Final Fantasy 14 Open Beta on Xbox Series X|S Starts February 21st

Square Enix has announced the open beta for the MMORPG Final Fantasy 14 on Xbox Series X|S will start on February 21st.

The open beta for Square Enix’s MMORPG Final Fantasy 14 has been announced to start on Wednesday,February 21 at 3AM ET / 8AM GMT. The open beta will be for all new players of the game. Anyone who currently has an existing account on other platforms will not be able to join beta at this time.

The open beta test will only be available to new players who will be playing FINAL FANTASY XIV for the first time. Take this opportunity to invite your Xbox-owning friends who have never experienced the ever-expanding world of FINAL FANTASY XIV and adventure together!

Those who are interested in trying out the game on Xbox Series X|S will need to enter the settings menu on their console through Settings and make sure to opt in for multiplayer, cross-network play, and communication options. Through the Microsoft store players can then choose the free trial to install the game.

The open beta test will hold the same limitations as the Free Trial, but will not have the option to make purchases in the Online Store.

As for now, those who already have a Final Fantasy XIV account won’t be able to take part in the beta. Progress made in the beta will be transferred when the full game is launched on the platform. So far there isn’t an exact release date as it will depend on the conclusion of the open beta test.

It was previously announced during the FF14 Fan Fest that the MMORPG would be finally making its way toXbox for the first time. Along with this news was the announcement of an update to the free trial which will now extend to level 70 and include the Stormblood expansion. Of course, the free trial does have some limitations on interactions and level cap, but that’s not bad considering.

The expansion is set to introduce a fresh hub, an increased level cap from 90 to 100, new skills, and new jobs. Already revealed was thePictomancer, paintbrush wielding magical DPS job. It will also feature new dungeons, raids, adversaries, gear, lifestyle content, and a PVP update.

It will be a busy launch for Dawntrail as the game finally comes to the new platform Xbox, meaning further ways to play the long-running MMO. In other Final Fantasy news, a deep dive intoFF7 Rebirthwill be happening this week on February 6th.
