In the next chapter in the series, the game will pick up after the events of the first. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be full of surprises, as the game’s part one ending didn’t quite follow the original. The trailer opens with a news report, showingAerithon a stretcher. It then skips to the group marvelling at the world of Gaia still enriched with green. Aerith comments on the beauty of it all, butRed XIIIchimes in explaining looks can be deceiving as “it’s barely hanging on”.
As they discuss what happened to Cloud who’s been absent for five years, the trailer previews some of the world. Chocobos can be seen carrying the group in a pack across building ruins and open spaces. Maybe we’ll have some Chocobo racing mini-games in this entry?
However, Cloud isn’t the only one to return in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth,Sephirothhas been biding his time these past five years. This quickly snaps to a fight with a rock monster. We also get a glimpse at the Turk’s latest recruit Elena. With Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa teaming up to battle the duo. Combat seems to follow the first title, with plenty of action to be had. Teaming up with the group again in action-packed battles. This time Red XIII seems to be playable.
Moreover, Sepiroth is here to stir up some trouble and of course drama. It looks like he’s using his powers of manipulation to get into the minds of the team once again. It’s all very mysterious and we can’t wait to see what this entry holds for the gang.
The Game is BIG
What we also know is that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be available as two-disc combo. That’s quite a hefty game considering the disc size max could be 200 GB. So if you have the no-disc version of PS5 be prepared to clean up your storage as this will be a hefty next entry.
