Final Fantasy Season Pass & DLC Info
The Season Pass forFinal Fantasy XVis now listed on the Playstation Store, giving us some insight into what to expect after the game releases on September 30th for PS4 and Xbox One. Take a look at what the Season Pass will net you in post-launchDLC:
All of the content has working titles which we can expect to be updated down the road. There is also no price on them individually, but the Season Pass is available as an upgrade to existing pre-orders for 24.99 USD or is included in the Digital Premium Edition for 84.99 USD.
Even with the working titles, we can pretty clearly see there are going to be 3 pieces of episodic content fleshing out the stories ofNoctis’primary party companions as well as a proper expansion, which will likely be the meatiest piece of content. The Booster and Holiday pack are likely item and cosmetic based content.
Players who upgrade their existing pre-order to the Season Pass also get an original theme, in-gameLeviathanrecolor, digital mini-soundtrack and a camera kit in-game item.
Expect the hype train to keep picking up more steam as we near to the late September release. In the meantime, there is the ongoing Brotherhood anime and the Kingsglaive movie later this month, as well as the Justic Monsters V mobile game which is a recreation of the pinball game that will be in Final Fantasy XV. We’ll keep bringing the updates on the game’s development as it comes, so check back often and let us know your thoughts!

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.
FF’s story is interesting. They seem to be the most embattled franchise to sell millions of copies every time, and each time the games can be regarded as at least “good”. But the vitriol when they aren’t FFVII is severe. For some reason, I see this being a similar issue for From Software in 15 years, if they continue to make games in the same Souls like vein.
Well, it’s simple. Can cancel a pre-order before it ships if you have doubts.
Personally, I only have the free time to justify about 2 launch day games per year, assuming what I’m interested in is spaced apart enough. No sense in paying full price for something you don’t have time for. Discounted wishlist games fill the gaps.
The last games I recall I pre-ordered were Skyrim, DS2, TW3 and DS3. All of them I’ve been deeply satisfied with, and have put in countless hours. Sometimes it does take me a while to get back around to season pass content, but w/e.
In terms of FF itself,
I’ve skipped the MMOs, and the only one I’ve been let down by was FF12 – because the battle system felt like a single player MMO… and Vaan. Similarly, ESO is le sigh.
XIII there’s a part of me that appreciated the linearity. I now have a hard time playing games like Xenoblade, even though I appreciate all that open world goodness. If I have to walk away for a few weeks and come back, just slap that Galdalf meme on my face. Had the same problem midway through my first play through of DS1.
Back to what I was after, no better pre-order deal than Gamestop for NA-US?
I have it preordered and it seems to meet what I am expecting. I just don’t want to be disappointed because I was more hyped about this than FFXIII back when it was called Versus XIII
I feel like there is more than enough gameplay footage for people to know what this game is all about. Well enough to know whether it suits your expectations for the series of not. Which is why I think it’s pretty easy to make a yes/no decision on pre-order.
I’ll be getting all the episodic DLCs and expansion. But I won’t get the Season pass until I know that this installment won’t be like FFXIII.
Yet that has never happened to me xD
I preordered, off the top of my head

I have not regretted even one of them. Perhaps I am more certain of what I like and capable of measuring my all-in vs my “i’ll think about it”
Or maybe my idea of what a game must provide for being worth 60 USD is different than other’s. Either way, I have never preordered because I’m hyped for the goodies included, it has always been a very specific synergy with the title’s art and disposition.
It’s not cynicism, it’s pragmatism.
I don’t agree. For example:
Persona 5 looks amazing, and as excited as I am my entire enjoyment will ultimately hinge on an engaging story and characters, things that simply will not be described in any detail until after the games release.
Aliens Colonial Marines, while not a common example, outright lied about itself until after release. Their gameplay videos were literally showing a product that isn’t real.
It’s pretty easy to just not know something/s critical to ones enjoyment of a game for a number of different reasons, even if you follow the thing from announcement to release, even if it looks good.
I don’t think I have ever regretted a preorder. However I have regretted a season pass, not because I didn’t like the game but because by the time the content came out I had moved on.
That would probably be because I have never preordered a game based solely on hype. Either way, with the amount of gameplay and previews available nowadays, it’s very easy to know if you’d like something.
Forum_Pirate knows no hype. Forum_Pirate knows no hope.
Reality has long since taken hold and dragged Forum down, into the deep, deep depths of cynicism.
or you can, you know, buy it when it comes out. Better to risk having to buy some exclusive crap (if it’s worth buying to begin with) than to risk buying a game you don’t like. One way wastes maybe 5 bucks, one wastes 60. It’s not like anywhere is gonna run out.
mreh, I still need to preorder this. I take it gamestop has the winning exclusives?
