Well, the main series have a pretty long development cycle. Thus iirc the FF7 remake was pitched as episodic, would let them start getting some of it out in a reasonable time. Though, of prior episodic, I believe After Years was fairly criticized.

XV had quite some horrid bugs at launch, I kind of wish I just waited until all the DLC was done before buying it. I was hit with the weapon upgrade bug which no patch fixed during my not-all-that-fast playthrough. I ponder buying Nier (on PC) with caution as a result. I loathe the limited time event nonsense.

Final Fantasy Adventure -> Adventure of Mana mobile remake was a fantastic adaptation, so I know they have it within themselves to do it right.

Crisis Core would need some work, from what I’ve read of the Type-0 port, the ported textures are disjointed. Modernizing it would be quite costly, unless it could ride the FF7 hype train to sales.

Oh I would kill to have a FF7 Crisis Core Remake, or even just a port.

i theorize that that the reason that there isn’t more marketing for the ff7 remake is that they don’t want to take away from ff15s dlcs. that being said it seems they are getting good at the dlc game would be surprised if ff7 doesn’t get the same treatment. (not that i’m complaining mind you, i’ve never played a ff game but ff7 has a lot of room for prequel content)
