Final Fantasy XV Releases New Screens, Details Skills, Characters, Leviathan Summon

Square Enix released some new screenshots forFinal Fantasy XVtoday and also detailed some of the game’s features, related to theArchaencalledLeviathan, characterskillsand othercharacterswho will join the party.

Leviathan is one of the Archaens or summons you can obtain in the game, and it is a massive serpent like beast that can emerge from underwater and wreak havoc on your foes. Leviathan seems to be one of the large summons in the game, and has been shown in earlier screenshots and gameplay footage. Check out the gallery for Leviathan.

Skills are special abilities that each of the 4 main characters contribute to the party.Noctisprovidesfishing,Promptois aphotographyexpert,Ignishandles thecookingandGladiolusfocuses onsurvival. Each of these skills can be developed to provide benefits to the party.

Noctis is the fisherman of the group and engaging in this activity at fishing spots is a way to increaseAPas well as catch fish that can be used asingredientsformealsand incrafting. As you upgrade the fishing skill, it will yield better results when you fish in the form of more AP, more valuable fish, and increased chances of keeping your catch.

Prompto takes and saves pictures of your journey which you can view when you’re resting. As you navigate across the world, you’ll have photo ops where you can stop and take a scenic picture. Your photography skill level increases by taking photos and the better he becomes, the more he can do with his pictures, such as taking selfies or applying effects. These photos can be saved and uploaded to social media.

When you spend time atcamp, Ignis can use his cooking skill to preparemealsfor the party. As you acquire ingredients from monsters you defeat and merchants across the world, Ignis will devise new dishes. Eating these meals confers benefits such as improving the party’s attack power or increasing their health. The more you cook, the more the skill levels up, unlocking new, more powerful recipes.

Survival is a skill we knew little about, but now we know that Gladiolus’ contribution to the party comes in the form of improving the drops that are acquired at the end of encounters. The more you walk, the better the skill becomes, which then results in much more rare and usefulitemsbeing dropped during encounters.

Furthermore, Square Enix showed 2 characters who will be joining our party during the game,Cor LeonisandIris Amicitawho are quite different in how they behave in combat. Cor wields a mightyGreatswordin combat, providing brute power, while Iris joins up and can use aMoogleto bop enemies.

With so much of the game already out there in previews and demos, screenshots at this point seem a little redundant but the information on skills are an interesting wrinkle which add gameplay and story flavor to the game, and helps to define the roles that the party members play both in combat and in the game’s narrative. We can anticipate a few more reveals next week as Square Enix will be detailing the contents of the Day 1 patch on Monday. Excited about the fishing, havnt played any of the demos and have tried not to look into anything with much detail. Im tryin to not spoil any of the game for myself. Getting harder as it gets closer to being released.
