Fractured Online’s Big Patch Introduces Stargates, New Wildfolk Subrace, And More!
Fractured Online’s Early Access release last September 15 has been ramping up lately. It featured engaging mechanics, most especially the Knowledge Point System in which you gain more knowledge on the skills you wish to improve by slaying the creatures they belong to. You can check out our Fractured Online Gameplay Overview to know more about the isometric sandbox MMORPG.
Fractured Online has been undergoing several bug fixes but the good part is that Dynamight Studios has been on top of things since the very beginning. Issues consisted of server instabilities and crashes to problematic respawn rates of horses. So far, the game has been in a better place and is known to encourage players to collaborate with others to build sprawling cities.
In this biggest update, interplanetary travel and Primal Crystal Event are already making headlines. Meanwhile, a new Wildfolk Subrace has also been introduced. Let’s discuss what each of these entails!
Stargates would be the only means to travel between worlds, specifically Arboreus and Syndesia, which both house different races. These were initially designed to be a special structure. This means that players will still have to build it from scratch within their cities. However, Dynamight Studios decided to change their course by creating these themselves. There will only be 1 Stargate on every continent. They will always be situated near the two starting areas.
To enter, you will need to have gathered 20 Energy Shards. These are obtained from the newly added world event in Arboreus. Simply picking them up would suffice for now. The tricky part is that the Primal Crystals the shards come with are very rare so you really need to keep your eyes peeled.
In the future, the developers are planning to add a specific way of acquiring them for the Wildfolk Race. The plan is for these rare crystals to also be used as fuel to transform into their Primal Forms. Furthermore, you can refer to the minimap rather than the world map to search for these Crystal Events.
Once folks have activated the Stargate, players have about 1 minute to enter and travel.
Fractured Online features three races, namely Humans, Wildfolk, and Demons. Among them, we’re still waiting for the Demons to make their appearance together with the other subraces for the Humans and Wildfolk.
The Iridia Blessed Guardians will be joining the Chadra or Tiger-kin and Erwydra or Hart-kin as Wilheart subraces. Contrary to the initial plan, they’re not literally Wildfolk but different kinds of humans who have chosen a life in the wilderness. Because of their harmonious relationship with nature as seen by the leader Nelena, they were graciously welcomed into the clan.
As a Wildfolk subrace, they have the capability to harness primal energy to grow stronger in combat. This also helps them stay grounded and attuned with their good alignment, making temptations a thing of the past.
The Iridia will immediately be teleported to Terra after the player completes the tutorial. They can eventually channel energy from Primal Crystals, allowing them to activate special abilities in an upcoming patch. They’re also tribalistic with their core focus on Dexterity, Intelligence, Perception, and Charisma. Unlike the Human Race, they regenerate HP and Mana fairly quickly.
One final surprise the developers have is the introduction of 4 World Bosses! They come in the form of a Termidian Matron, Crested Lizard, Giant Bullfrog, and Cassowary with the latter being the easiest in the bunch.
Here’s certainly an activity to look forward to with your guildmates. Happy hunting indeed!
Although not necessarily a bug, one of the biggest quality-of-life improvements is the reduction in equipment durability upon dying. Where previously, the durability would decrease by as much as 10%, it has been completely removed now. This is very helpful considering that there’s no way to repair weapons and armor at the moment, especially after dying in sieges.
Speaking of sieges, players will now have the option to initiate them during the EU time! Gone are the days when you had to stay up during the US time to defend your city.
The other minor fixes include Soft and Tough Reptile Leathers being assigned their correct properties, the erratic animation of horses while you’re mounted, and totems being subject to melee attacks.
The addition of random world events such as the Primal Crystals and World bosses is definitely a step in the right direction. Having new and random things to find out in the wilderness is sure to keep up replayability. Hopefully, events are not too rare to create unnecessary fear of missing out for players.
