FromSoftware Unveils New Story Trailer For Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree

Bandai NamcoandFromSoftwarehave released a new and epic trailer for“Shadow of the Erdtree“the expansionDLCforElden Ring, just one month before its launch onJune 21. The new trailer appears to emphasize what Hidetaka Miyazaki has already promised: in terms of volume, ambition, and content, it is described as the largestDLCever produced by the studio.

FromSoftwareis not only one of the most beloved studios in the gaming world but also one of the most successful. Since the release ofDark Souls, the studio has inspired many other developers and inevitably captures everyone’s attention with its new games.Elden Ring, which even featured collaboration with George R. R. Martin, was its most recent success, but the game still has more to offer.

Next month, the studio will release “Shadow of the Erdtree,” the firstDLCfor the game, and has just unveiled a new trailer for it.

Miyazaki and his team’s designs are present from the very beginning. With flame giants and soldiers in what appears to be an attack on a city. Naturally, as is usual in these trailers, we are presented with few clues.

The trailer is dedicated exclusively to the story of thisDLC, and it is as cryptic as one would expect from FromSoftware’s narratives. The trailer shows a war, which the main game did not cover in its story, and mentions key characters likeMiquellaandMessmeer.

While it was already known that theDLCwould take place in a new setting, Land of Shadow, it is unclear if the war-torn land in the trailer is indeed this area where the expansion will take place.

Focusing on the story, the trailer did not reveal any new enemies or new weapons, although the game’s social media has been sharing images of bosses and enemies from“Shadow of the Erdtree”in recent weeks.

It has also been said that it will be necessary to have defeatedRadahnandMohgto access the content. The entry point (or one of the first steps, at least) is likely related to the cocoon of Miquella that can be found inMohgwyn Palace.

Therefore, if we haven’t reached that point in our game yet, we will need to make sure to do so beforehand. The DLC will be accessible both in our first playthrough or NG+.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreecan be pre-ordered asDLCfor the base game for $39.99 on digital platforms ahead of its release onJune 21forPS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC. A deluxe edition, ten dollars more expensive, includes an art book and digital soundtrack of the expansion.

Additionally, there is a bundle of the game andDLCas well as the deluxe editions of both titles, available for $99.99.

Finally, a collector’s edition that comes with a (46cm) statue of Messmer the Impaler, a physical 40-page art book, and a digital soundtrack rounds out the expansion’s launch formats.

Among the latest information, anew enemy inspired by Bloodborneis highlighted, which will be part of the only expansion for the game, likely to have continuity through a sequel or another type of continuation.
