Haunted Chocolatier Gets New Screenshots From Stardew Dev
The Stardew Valley developer ConcernedApe has unveiled new screenshots of their next title the Haunted Chocolatier.
Developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone behind the wholesome indie farming sim Stardew Valley has just hit 1 million followers on X (formerly Twitter). To celebrate this major milestone he has released new screenshots of the next pixel title Haunted Chocolatier.
The new images show familiar Stardew Valley-esque visuals but with a new theme based on a spooky set chocolate connoisseur. Barone has been slowly drip-feeding fans with tidbits and images of the upcoming follow-up game. If you loved the farming life sim with its dungeon dive, you will probably be looking forward to seeing what’s coming next from the mind of the Stardew creator.
We see more cosy homes, a town square, and even some bow-and-arrow combat. As the next game will invite new combat mechanics, a ranged weapon could be very useful. While we did a slingshot in Stardew, the bow looks to have crosshairs making it more versatile.

But the developer has also shared a familiar face in a previous post that has got players creating multiverse fan theories. A screenshot of a wizard-type character looks awfully similar to the Grandpa character who generously leaves you his farm inStardew Valley. The caption teases him awakening from “the most terrible dream”. Is this some sort of Stardew dream inception? While it’s not for certain this is the same visiting spirit of the first game, it has many excited to see if there are crossovers or other easter eggs in The Haunted Chocolatier.

However, Haunted Chocolatier will have some stark differences from Stardew as the dev hasalready teased boss battlesand a much “darker” theme. The title does have “haunted” in the name, and we’ve seen screenshots of floating ghosties carrying confectionary items in a store setting. It’s more on the cute haunted side if anything. More combat-focused encounters will be in the game including using block/stun mechanics will definitely give some more interaction when it comes to fighting foes. Essentially the title will have moreAction-RPGelements.
