You can see a teaser for the feature here:

From the makers of Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and DmC: Devil May Cry, comes a warrior’s brutal journey into myth and madness. Set in the Viking age, a broken Celtic warrior embarks on a haunting vision quest into Viking Hell to fight for the soul of her dead lover. Created in collaboration with neuroscientists and people who experience psychosis, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will pull you deep into Senua’s mind.

The teaser is a welcome addition for those who are interested in the authenticity behind the game’s development, as it pertains to psychosis and neurological disorders, which are topics very rarely touched on in gaming.

PS4 pre-orders will receive an exclusive Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Dynamic Theme that depicts the iconic burning tree scene from the game. Those pre-ordering on PC will receive an exclusive digital comic short, Hellblade: Senua’s Song.

Emergence

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.

They’re taking some big gambles that could result in an iconic game (failure is possible too I suppose).

Regardless, this title has been squarely on my radar for daring to do its own thing.

Lol. Not bad advice.

Careful, you’re on the internet, might get some backlash for such an even keeled comment like that lol.

I’m with you, I totally applaud the willingness to do something genuine that is more reflective of real life and real struggles. It’s showing you don’t have to compromise on setting.

I think I’m going to get this one.I usually avoid games with set protagonists, unless I really like the character. Senua looks like a character that I would enjoy though.

Heres hope for more interesting heroines in games, and less steroid pumped ‘bros’.I couldn’t even list how many games I avoid because of how much I dislike the beefed up male characters.
