Hellpoint Hits Kickstarter Goal, Check Out Some New Boss Gameplay Footage
Hellpoint from Cradle Games has hit their Kickstarter funding goal today just a day before the campaign ends! For those who haven’t seen much of the Sci-Fi Souls game, their demo was updated recently with a new boss to try out, to give players a better idea of the Soulslike gameplay. Check out some footage of it:
In the demo, you will make your way through the game’s space station, acquiring a pair of vault credentials which you will use to open the chamber that leads to the boss gate. Upon entering you will face off against Undisturbed Defas Nemundi, a meditating lovecraftian horror with runes etched on its chest that is anything but peaceful. While it maintains the clear karma of non-violence, it instead sends forth an astral projection of itself to attack you with a variety of moves, Zenyatta style. It features a couple of melee moves: a direct open hand punch as well as a sweeping swipe. It can also execute a ground pound attack that has an area of effect. If you keep your distance it will project itself towards you in a straight line and can also emit a violet energy circle that radiates outwards which you can only jump over to avoid all damage.
The boss is not particularly quick and avoiding damage is not difficult. It does hit hard however, not quite one shot territory but definitely two shot. It’s moves and patterns are reasonable enough to react to. Visually I like the design, as it fits with the horror vibe well and to me is a much more distinctly defined creature than the standard enemies which to me are more ambiguous.
Hellpoint’s kickstarter comes to an end tomorrow, and you can see from the promising boss fight that the game has a bunch of potential. Give theirkickstarterpage a look if you’re interested in backing their development further and be sure to download thedemo on Steamto see for yourself. Congrats to Cradle!

WOOHOOO!!!!
I was worried there for a minute, glad the goal was met! Now I’m looking forward to seeing how this evolves and to playing the Alpha!
Holla!
Ha that’s the trick, we’ve never had a Soulslike with jumping so it’s not a tool in our toolbox. I was also using the jump to jump over his sweep attacks and land some hits above.
You can jump over that purple shockwave? Why didn’t I think of that. Sounds a lot more reliable than dodging through it.
