Honkai Star Rail Patch 1.3 Adds New Characters and Updates the Simulated Universe
Honkai Star Rail patch 1.3 adds Imbibitor Dan Heng, updates the Simulated Universe, and more!
So all aboard the Astral Express, Travelers! We’re about to return to our intergalactic adventure!
It seems that Hoyoverse is sticking to the precedence that updates alternate between minor events and story-filled romps, so 1.3 seems to be much quieter on the story front side than update 1.2. Nevertheless, players will get to try their luck by rolling for two new 5-Star characters during this update period.
First up is Imbibitor Lunae, an alternative version of Dan Heng from his past on the Xianzhou Luofu. Instead of being a Wind-based The Hunt character, his Imbibitor Lunae form is an Imaginary Destruction beast. Imbibitor Lunae thrives in single-target damage, though it may take a hot minute for him to ramp up. His skill actually enhances his basic attack, increasing damage and eventually allowing him to deal area-of-effect damage.
Imbibitor Lunae’s banner is estimated to run from August 30th through September 20th
The next banner cycle in this Honkai Star Rail update introduces Fu Xuan, the leader of the Divination Commission on the Xianzhou Luofu. While she was already a major character earlier in the story, this will be the first time Fu Xuan will actually be playable. She walks the Preservation path while also being a Quantum Element user. Fu Xuan can redirect all damage taken by other allies onto herself, effectively protecting them from harm. When in grave danger, she can also automatically restore her own health.
Coming alongside Fu Xuan is Lynx, another Quantum Character joining Honkai Star Rail. She is yet another support, this time walking the path of Abundance. Lynx specializes in healing her allies, and can even enhance the Taunt effects of Destruction and Preservation characters. Her ultimate ability allows her to throw the biggest pill in the world toward her allies, healing them and removing a debuff from everyone.
Fu Xuan and Lynx can be pulled from approximately September 20th to October 11th.
Aside from this, players will have tons of more missions to experience, as well as a new map to explore. In terms of quests, we will be getting some Trailblaze Missions that are related to the main quest. We will also get Companion Missions related to Imbibitor Lunae, Luka, Lynx, and March 7th to get to know them much better.
The new Aurum Alley location is in dire need of a facelift and repair. They are torn between accepting funding from two groups: the IPC, and the local merchants. As the player obviously has a say in how an entire civilization runs its city, you can greatly influence the direction that the alley goes towards through the “Hustle and Bustle” set of events.
Players will help out the local merchants by managing their inventory or planning out optimal delivery routes. They will have various objectives to take on so that you can increase Aurum Alley’s prosperity level. If you invest enough time and energy into the project, you may even get the character Shushang for free and permanently unlock Aurum Alley. Who knows, maybe players can also unlock new wallpapers for their in-game smartphone?
Last on the list is an update to everyone’s favorite Honkai Star Rail roguelite, the Simulated Universe. Herta’s VR universe is experiencing a disaster as things are shaking up. Instead of having 13 areas randomly generated one after the other, the stages in the Swarm Disaster are arranged in a grid with each tile representing an area. Tiles are random, and have different events and encounters associated with each.
One other unique aspect of this is the Audience Dice system. After clearing each encounter, players can push their luck even further by rolling the dice, granting them more (or sometimes less) rewards than usual.
For their troubles, players who do well can potentially unlock the Path of Propagation. Essentially this will allow you to unlock new buffs as well as Path Resonance skills that you can use for succeeding Simulated Universe runs.
Well, that’s the tip of the iceberg! It looks like there’s tons of new content to keep players busy for the next few weeks. While waiting, be sure to view our guides forSilver Wolf,Best Relics, or even ourBest AoE DPS rankings.
