In the Penacony Trailer, it is believed that the narration is being voiced by none other than Black Swan as she gives a run-through of what the Trailblazer has been up to. From joining the Astral Crew and beginning their adventures in Jarilo-VI and Xianzhou Luofu to teaming up with Argenti, Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, and Huohuo. There is no shortage of missions as every journey is filled with unforgettable memories.
Black Swan is the Memokeeper of the Garden of Recollection, who, as you may have guessed, has abilities to access and preserve memories of the universe. Members of this organization are known to surrender their bodies to gain these powers. According to reports, Black Swan is a 5-star Nihility character specializing in dealing Wind damage. This means that she is adept at inflicting debuffs against enemies by significantly reducing their defenses in several turns.
Acheron, on the other hand, is speculated to be a familiar character inspired by Raiden Mei from Honkai Impact 3rd and Raiden Ei from Genshin Impact. She is a Galaxy Ranger and is therefore responsible for enacting justice across the different planets of the galaxy. Just like Black Swan, Acheron is a 5-star Nihility character, except that she specializes in dealing Lightning damage. However, not many details have been given about how unique her abilities are compared to other Nihility Path heroes such as Welt and Sampo.
Penacony is the Planet of Festivities and is governed by the Family. This was supposed to be the Astral Express Crew’s next destination following Belobog. Uncharacteristic of the Family, they have sent out invitations to numerous outsiders for the first time. It may also be the reason why we have seen Black Swan and Acheron in the trailer. However, the Astral Express changed its course upon receiving intel from Kafka. At the time, there was a Stellaron Crisis that the team had to deal with in Xianzhou Luofo.
According to lore, The Family is a mysterious faction that seems to have the ability to intimidate people into joining. One example was a man attending a theater hosted by them only to be eerily coerced into being a part of the “Family Ties”. This was done by a Family member named Renoir who changed his voice to weed into the consciousness of the guest. At the same time, the other members were urgingly smiling at him to simply be a part of this.
Despite this anecdote, The Family has done good for Penacony, turning it into a luxurious and extravagant metropolis by constructing multiple skyscrapers. Yet there are allegations that they have set their sights on building alliances with the Annihilation Gang who intends to destroy the world. Rumors have been swirling that it may have been the reason behind sending out multiple invitations to numerous individuals.
Before traveling to Penacony, Honkai: Star Rail is expected to be updated to Version 1.6 in late December. This would include the release of a couple of new 5-star characters like Dr. Ratio and Ruan Mei. Additionally, there will be a new game mode called Pure Fiction, which simulates an endless run for players to fight against waves of enemies within a certain timeframe. The more points they get, the more chances for better rewards!
