When NeocoreGames revealed that King Arthur: Knight’s Tale would be bolstered with content centered around an immortal Roman legion, it seemed like this project, known as Legion IX, was an expansion. But press release describes Legion IX as a “stand-alone tactical RPG in the King Arthur: Knight’s Tale universe”.
King Arthur: Legion IXis a standalone tactical RPG that doesn’t require players to own Knight’s Tale or have played the game to take a look. Additionally, Neocore has revealed that Legion IX will arrive on Steam very soon, with the game debuting on May 9th.
As for what this spin-off game will explore, we’ve been told: “A new threat looms over Avalon, as the infamous Ninth Legion of Rome, long missing, has stepped foot on the mythical island. Its commander, the fallen hero, Gaius Julius Mentus, received a demonic legion from his late emperor, Septimius Sulla, to find a way out of Tartarus. But when they accidentally arrive in the magical realm of the Lady of the Lake, Gaius Julius Mentus decides to subjugate the island and establish Eternal Rome there. However, before that, he must gather his lost legion.”
