Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 – Exclusive Information

In this Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 video, we’re going to be talking about Kingdome Come Deliverance 2. If you haven’t heard by now, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was announced by Warhorse Studios. It’s scheduled to release sometime later this year, and we currently don’t have a lot of information on when that is. Given that they didn’t provide a release date, I think it’s safe to say that we’re looking at either Q3 or Q4 this year.

In this video, we’re going to be talking about everything we know about Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. We had a presentation from Warhorse Studios a little over a week ago, where we got to see some of the game and the presentation that you’re going to see. We also got an exclusive interview with the lead game designer for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and we’re going to go through some of the information that we learned from that interview, which you will not find elsewhere.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 takes place after the events of the first Kingdom Come Deliverance. You’re still going to be playing as Henry, and you’ll be picking up his story where it left off. You’re going to be moving to a couple of new areas of the game.

There are two maps in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. The first is a Trosky area which is sort of a large countryside area with a castle in the center. The second map is Kuttenberg, which is a large urban city that is based around silver mining. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are going to be hundreds, if not thousands, of NPCs in this city.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, in terms of land area, is supposedly about twice as big as the first game. You’re going to have double the area to explore. I know exploration in Kingdom Come Deliverance was one of the best parts of the game, just getting lost in the countryside or in the woods, going hunting, getting away from the questing, which was a ton of fun. You’re going to have even more of that in this game.

Something that I want to mention is that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 only has two load screens. This is something that Warhorse wanted to impress on me. The only instances are when you load into the game, and when you change maps. Otherwise, there are zero load screens in the whole game. If you go into houses, castles, there are no load screens. The reason there’s a load screen between the two maps is that they are quite a bit distanced from each other, just like in real life. They didn’t want you to have to ride between these two areas constantly to get to where you need to go, so you will fast travel between these maps when changing.

I asked the lead game designer these questions that addresses things we want to know more about. Things such as what makes the game different from other games, and why do they think it sold 6 million copies.

I was told that the reason behind all that is because it’s a very old-school RPG, and a very polished shell at that. It has a lot of that feeling of old-school gaming, and I totally agree with this. There’s a lot of freedom to do whatever you want to do. The main character, Henry, is very relatable. You’re not the chosen one, you’re not some divine character that was chosen by something in order to fulfill a destiny. You’re just an ordinary character in exceptional circumstances that’s trying to succeed in a game.

One of the other things that I was really impressed about was that failure is a huge part of Kingdom Come Deliverance. You’re expected to fail at certain things within the game, and there are punishments for failing. You’ll get arrested, pay a fine, do penance, go to holy areas so you can pray to be forgiven. Those are things you might be able to do to get your crimes forgiven. You might be branded as a thief, which can affect your gameplay. People might respond to you differently, if they see you being a thief as a positive or a negative. Things happen in this game, and everything has consequences.

Quests can happen with or without you. For instance, if you didn’t accompany the guards to go for a capture when you’re enlisted, they’ll set off to do that, and they’ll be mad at you when they return. You’re going to be immersed into the story and be part of the story. It doesn’t always seem like the game is revolving around you, characters will have their own agendas.

Topics we discussed in our interview are some of the coolest things about Kingdom Deliverance. One of them that really caught my attention is that none of the NPCs in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 are spawned in. This means that if you go to Kuttenberg, steal a person’s clothes, the next time you’ll see them they still won’t have clothes. They’ll continue to be in that state, and they will remember you and dislike you for it.

Another example that was given to me is that if you’re about to commit a crime and steal the guards’ gear. When you commit the crime, and they come after you, they won’t have any gear to attack you with. You can also sabotage the participants in a tournament. You can poison them, steal their gear, you’ll be able to win the tournament without a challenge. This is very fascinating to me, as this game plays out realistically. You can do a lot of things and be creative with how you want to approach things.

When I asked about the difference between the two games, I was told that they’re really working on improving the core systems of the game. They didn’t want to change anything too much because they were really happy with the way Kingdom Come Deliverance played. They’re really focusing on the core systems, especially combat. It’s going to be similar, but they’re trying to lower the skill floor in the new game so that it’s easier for people to get into combat and succeed in it. There’s still a very high skill ceiling to it, where you can land combos and perfect strikes.

They also mentioned that they’re trying to reward aggressive play a bit more in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. When it comes to combat, instead of playing defensively, you can use crossbows. There are different crossbows that are historically accurate, and each type will have its own pros and cons. Whether it has a better range, more power, less accuracy, or more reload time.

The game also has a new minigame that allows you to craft your own swords or equipment You’ll have to pay attention to what you’re doing in order to get good results. It will allow you to craft gear that you can sell, so you can make money which will be added to the game as well.

In the first Kingdom Come Deliverance, there was a huge focus on Henry Being an ordinary person. When you first started the game, your character wasn’t good at anything. If you attacked two people, you were going to die. You didn’t have the skill. As you progressed through the game, you got better. Riding horses, archery, it all became easier. You felt like you were going from someone who was bad, to someone who could master anything. Not everyone caught on to that, as some people thought they were bad at the game. The reality was you just had to get better at it.

In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, they still want you to have that same feeling with Henry. However, Henry has gone through a bit of life from the previous game, so they had to get creative in terms of recreating that feeling while making it lore accurate. It’s not like he is just going to forget everything he learned, so you will have some of the things you learned from the first game at the beginning of the second game.

There are a couple things that they mentioned to me regarding this. For example, even though Henry was very strong in small-scale villages, he was a big fish in a small pond. Now, when moving to Kuttenberg, he’s just going to be a fish in a big pond. There are people that are going to be stronger and better than him in this new area, so he will have to rise to their level. They also mentioned something lore-wise, but didn’t get into full details, that will sort of explain why he’s not quite as powerful as we think he would be at the beginning of this game.

I know this is a popular topic which should be addressed, as this wasn’t exactly the greatest in Kingdom Come Deliverance when it launched. It’s been patched subsequently, and I would say it’s in a better state. It’s not nearly as challenging. Some people still don’t quite like the way it is now in Kingdom Come Deliverance. However, I did confirm that in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, lockpicking will be the same version which is present in the first one. It won’t look quite the same with a different UI, but the mechanics should be more or less the same. If you’re happy with the current version of lockpicking, then you should be happy with this.

One thing I asked about was saving the game. This is one of the things in the game that was a little bit controversial, because you had to craft a potion, brew it, then save. This led to hilarious moments. Personally, every time I could save, I would immediately go on a murder spree and do all kinds of things knowing I could save immediately. This will still be present in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will also autosave much more than the first game, as they don’t want anyone being punished for dying. Having to go back multiple hours because you didn’t save, that isn’t exactly fun. They wanted to leave in an element of intenseness when you’re about to steal something from someone or get into a fight. There’s some tension there that if you lose, you might have to reload a little way back. They didn’t want to remove that, so it’s going to be somewhat similar. However, it’s going to be easier to save than in the first game.

A topic we discussed at length was bugs. The first Kingdom Come Deliverance had a lot of bugs during the launch of the game. This is something that Warhorse really acknowledged in our interview, and they said that it is probably their biggest concern. These are things that affected the players’ game experience the most, and it’s something that they’re having a huge focus on this time around. They said to me that the game is probably as polished as Kingdom Come Deliverance is right now. They still have all the time between now and launch to polish it even further.

It was also mentioned that they have changed the way underlying systems work in order to detect bugs more easily. They’re spending more time on fixing bugs, detecting bugs, and playtesting. They still have many months of this, and they seem pretty confident that it’s going to be a lot better than last time in terms of bugs. I thought that it was great that they acknowledged it, as they’re aware of it and really working hard on it.

Warhorse Studios acknowledged that modding support for Kingdom Come Deliverance came a little bit too late in their mind, and they absolutely want people to be able to mod the game. They couldn’t go into details about when that might be available for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, except to say that they’re aware of it. They can’t promise anything or provide any timelines, but they acknowledged it.

The last thing we discussed was performance. Performance is a hot topic right now, coming off of Dragon’s Dogma 2 and other games of the last couple of years. Games that have been fantastic but have had performance issues.

We got into how Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is shaping up in terms of performance, and they were very candid with me. They said that it seems to run well on an average PC. If you have a powerful set-up, it’s going to run very well for you. It seems to be running smoothly, but it probably won’t be like 160 FPS or close to it, but it is in a very playable and stable state. They are pretty happy with the way it’s coming out on PC at the moment. They expect PC players to have a pretty smooth experience. They’re still polishing and working on it over the next few months in order to make it better.

My only concern here is when we got into the conversation about how it performs on console. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is also going to be coming out on Xbox Series X and S, and Playstation 5. They mentioned that there wouldn’t be a fidelity mode or a performance mode. They mentioned that they’re working as hard as they can to get the best performance on consoles.

I asked them if it was reaching 60 FPS, and they said that they aren’t reaching it on consoles. They didn’t mention to me how many FPS they were getting, or what the average was. However, they were very open and transparent about the fact that reaching 60 FPS on current-gen consoles is a challenge. They mentioned that they might add another mode on PS5 Pro to be able to maximize the hardware. This will depend on the performance of the game on the PS5 Pro.

If you didn’t know, Kingdom Come Deliverance and its sequel are running on the CryEngine. It’s a very modified version of it, and they’ve customized it for their needs for Kingdom Come Deliverance. It’s an engine that still looks amazing, in my opinion. The first Kingdom Come Deliverance’s graphics still holds up, in my opinion. I’m expecting Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 to look even better than the first one.

That wraps up our Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 exclusive interview. If you watched other videos on Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, we really took our opportunity to ask some very candid questions. I think Warhorse Studios was very transparent with their answers, which I really appreciated. This is a game that I am super excited for, as Kingdom Come Deliverance was a breath of fresh air when it came out. I can’t wait to see where the story goes in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
