Back to the Future…
Have you ever wondered what would happen if we could travel to the past? This theory has always fascinated us as human beings throughout time. Hollywood has ingrained this idea in our minds, explored in iconic films like the Back to the Future trilogy. Taking this premise into account, a video game is being developed, Kingmakers. However, this game offers a different perspective, immersing us in an epic and massive war in the style of Chivalry against soldiers from the Middle Ages.
This time, even though we don’t hop into Dr. Emmet Brown’s DeLorean, we still become time travelers, transported to the medieval era where battles determine the future of the modern world.
Every battle you participate in takes place as a fully real-time simulation with many soldiers fighting simultaneously. Each unit on the battlefield is controlled by a multithreaded AI that manages decision-making, pathfinding, and loyalty. Combined with a unique procedural animation system, Kingmakers aims to deliver an unprecedented level of combat and character fidelity.
One of the standout features of Kingmakers is its fusion of ancient and modern elements in gameplay. While local fighters use medieval weapons like swords, shields, arrows, and catapults, our character breaks one of the basic rules of combat, bringing a modern weapon into a melee, providing access to an arsenal of modern weapons, including assault rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers, armored SUVs, bikes, attack helos, air strikes, and more. This contrast between the ancient and the contemporary promises a unique gaming experience, challenging players to adapt to diverse environments and situations.
Each player will have the freedom to choose how to navigate the open medieval world of Kingmakers. Additionally, between war simulator missions, strategic construction of various structures is included to strengthen our kingdom and ensure victory on the battlefield.
The cooperative mode allows up to three players to lead their own armies alongside yours, joining your conquest in online cooperative gameplay. Players will have to work together to bring down the enemy castle’s formidable defenses or defend allied fortresses against opponents. This ensures a medieval multiplayer experience.
