Kuki Shinobu Hyperbloom Build Guide | Genshin Impact | Abyss Ready

In thisGenshin Impact Guide, I’m going to be showing you myHyperbloom BuildforKuki Shinobu.Hyperbloom is a multi-layer reaction, that needs several elements to react. The core components of Hyperbloom is the use of Dendro, Hydro, and Electro characters. The Electro character has ownership of the Hyperbloom trigger. This build is extremely cheap, very effective, and straightforward.

The introduction of the Dendro element along with the Sumeru expansion has forever changed team building. With at least a dozen new archetypes and some modifications to existing ones, Dendro quickly became a core part of building any team. Dendro in its core is a multi-layer reaction, that pairs very well with Electro and Hydro elements. So Hyperbloom is such a reaction that requires several steps to trigger, and with this build, we can make sure these steps run smoothly.

Featuring only four-star characters, that don’t require high constellations to get the job done. This build uses Dendro for the Main Character, as well asXingqiu, andSucrose. This means forming a team with a lot of reactions, and buffs. This build is meant to squeeze frequent Hyperbloom procs fromKuki Shinobuwith a high damage ceiling.

The idea is to apply Hydro withXingqiuand Dendro with the Main Character, to trigger a bloom reaction. It doesn’t deal damage but does leaves a Dendro seed on the floor. Then in comes the Electro attack fromKuki Shinobucoming in contact with these seeds. This will trigger the Hyperbloom, which deals a lot of damage.

For the ideal buffer support in the fourth slot, you can pickSucrose. As she can buff the Elemental Mastery stat, shred Hydro and Electro resistance, as well as spread elements as an AOE, and gather enemies.

This build is suitable for all beginner and endgame content, and in thisGuideI’ll explain just how to build aHyperbloom BuildusingKuki Shinobu. Perfect for conquering the open world, event challenges, as well as Spiral Abyss. I’ll go through whatWeaponsto use, whatArtifactsto upgrade and which companions to pick.

Hyperbloom is a transformative reaction, scaling only with the Elemental Mastery stat, character level, and enemy resistance. For this reason, we buildKuki Shinobuwith fullEM.Not only that, butKuki Shinobuscales her healing withEMas well, soEMdouble dips as an offensive and defensive stat. You can go withEMon Sands, Goblet, Circlet, and weapon choice. With the full Gilded Dreams set, you can go over 1000 or 1100 EM easily. Then you get even more from the Dendro Main character andSucrose‘s buffs.

For sub-stats, only % HP for healing, and Energy Recharge are relevant, so you could go for them. But they are not a crucial part of the build.

Kuki has the privilege of working very well with free weapons. She uses swords and does not need a good base attack. So there are two types of weapons that fit this, EM weapons and ER weapons. But EM ones deal more damage, and ER does not matter much outside of the one that regains energy for the entire team.

Iron Stingis generally the best free weapon forKuki ShinobuHyperbloom build. It has a high 165 EM sub-stat, which is ideal for maximising her damage and healing.

It’s better than Sapwood Blade in this team, since Kuki is the main damage dealer, and wants to maximize her own damage rather than passing buffs to the team.

Toukabou Shigure is a reward from the event during version 3.3. If you played Genshin during this period, you have easy access to it. Toukabou Shigure is identical toIron Stingin terms of EM stat, so it outputs the exact same Hyperbloom damage. The only difference is its passive, which isn’t relevant to Kuki.

It comes as a free reward, so you can use it instead of crafting Iron Sting, and save the weapon Billet.

Favonius Swordis the ultimate energy weapon forKuki Shinobu. It has a massive 61.3% ER sub stat, and is able to generate a lot of energy for the entire team with its passive. Kuki might find it hard to proc the passive with a low Crit rate, but it’s still worth using if your team has no other wielder of a Favonius weapon.

I generally prefer using theFavonius Swordon the Dendro Main character instead, and use the EM weapon on Kuki. Losing EM on a support such as the Main Character is not as impactful as losing it on the main damage dealer. So keep that in mind.

The limited weapon, Xiphos’ Moonlight is a good middle ground between theFavonius SwordandIron Sting. It has both EM and ER stats, but is not available outside of its own weapon banner. So unlike the gacha 4 star weapons that you get from wishing on character banners and using free fates on the standard banner, you have to go out of your way to get the Xiphos’ Moonlight.

It has the same EM value asIron Sting, and scales ER based on the EM stat of the wielder then gives the team a portion of that bonus ER. So overall, it’s a slight improvement over free alternatives. Usually, it’s not worth using Primogems on the weapon banner, especially for a four-star with no guarantee. So I wouldn’t advise that unless the weapon comes with other good four and five-star weapons.

Freedom Swornis another EM weapon suitable for this build. It has a higher EM stat thanIron Stingand Xiphos’ Moonlight, so it yields more Hyperbloom damage. Not only that but the passive also buffs the entire team’s damage and attack stats.

This weapon is Kazuha’s signature weapon and comes along with his banner. The issue withFreedom Swornis the cost you have to pay to guarantee a copy of it. Generally, a weapon banner is a waste of Primogems, unless the banner has good weapons, four and five stars alike.

Damage-wise, Key of Khaj-Nisut is not better than EM weapons. However,Kuki Shinobustill benefits from the massive HP stat this weapon gives. Her heals will be much stronger with Key of Khaj-Nisut, and still get some EM bonus, based on her total HP.

This weapon is meant for Nilou, and comes with her banner. It has no real use outside of using it on Kuki or Nilou.

When it comes toKuki Shinobu‘s choice of artifacts, she’s very flexible and able to achieve a great result with the wide variety available.

Going with two pieces from one set, and two pieces from another is totally a viable option forKuki Shinobu. You can easily mix and match sets, to give her the best sub-stats possible. Hybrid is not the best option in a fully optimized build at the very endgame. Some full sets have strong bonuses for Kuki, with the four-piece set bonus being very desirable. However, a hybrid is easier to get, more flexible and has the potential to give superior sub-stats.

You can pick two sets that provide 80 EM with a two-piece bonus. These sets areWanderer’s Troupe,Gilded Dreams, and Flower of Paradise Lost. With two and pieces, a total of 160 EM is just a very nice point to start, and much quicker to farm.

This set gives 80 EM as a two-piece bonus, and a four-piece bonus gives different bonuses based on team composition. For every teammate with a different element than the wielder, you gain 50 EM. For every teammate with the same element as the wielder, you gain a 14% ATK.

We build Kuki as the sole Electro character, to ensure all the ownership of Hyperbloom goes to her. So overall, Kuki gets 150 EM from the passive, and 80 from two pieces bonus, for a total 230 EM. That’s a higher bonus than Hybrid sets, but you need good sub-stats to pair with it, to be effectively better.

Overall, I recommend aiming to get full Gilded Dreams set, because it drops from the same domain as Deepwood memories. You needDeepwood Memorieson Dendro characters in a Hyperbloom team, so farming this domain is the most efficient for your time as well as resources.

This set gives 80 EM as a two-piece bonus, and a four-piece bonus gives a stacking buff to Hyperbloom damage, going up to 140%. This bonus requires some time with consistent Hyperbloom proccing to ramp up, so don’t expect to have an 100% uptime. Even with the downtime, Flower of Paradise Lost gives the highest damage output overall.

The only issue with it is being paired with another set in the same domain, that’s not useful for most characters. So farming Flower of Paradise Lost is not always the most efficient way of spending your Resin. So the choice is yours.

Level talents in this order:Elemental Skill> Elemental Burst > Normal Attack

Normal And Charged Attacks are physical talents, and irrelevant in our build. You can safely ignore it.

The elemental Skill ofKuki Shinobuis the most important part of her kit. It generates a ring around her that lasts for 12 seconds at base level, and 15 seconds with C2. The ring pulsates in AOE around the active character every 1.5 seconds. The AOE deals Electro DMG, applying Electro element, and healing to the active character.

Such AOE always hits, regardless of what your active character is doing. So it’s the perfect trigger for the Hyperbloom reaction, with a very high uptime during rotation, even during burst animations, switching character animation, or while dodging. Not only that, but it can proc other reactions as well. Electro Charged if the enemy has a Hydro aura. Or both Quicken and Aggravate if the enemy has a Dendro aura.

Damage from reactions scales purely on the EM stat, character level, and enemy resistances. So in a vacuum, the level of Elemental Skill doesn’t affect most of Kuki’s damage. But we prioritize leveling it anyway, because it’s also the main source of healing in the team.

Elemental Burst is a large AOE of constant hits and a lot of electro applications. In a Hyperbloom team, it’s nice to have, but not very important. We level it if we have spare materials, but we don’t build around it. As the sole Electro character, Kuki might not have enough ER to burst on each rotation, but that’s completely fine. We don’t miss much from this.

Genshin Impacthas unique playstyles that rely on switching characters and chaining combos across these characters. So a solid part of this Hyperbloom build is knowing which characters will accompanyKuki Shinobu, and what roles they will play.

In this section, I’ll fill you in on some of the best characters that synergize well with this build. It’s universally recommended for you to use a five-star support character, and the most suitable among them for this build is Nahida. However, the build is complete with purely four-star characters with a F2P build, both Kuki damage and team damage is not much lower, so we will focus on this build.

Xingqiuis the best source of off-field Hydro applications. That’s why he’s the first pick for Reverse Vaporize and Electrocharged teams. Now with bloom and subsequent reactions (Hyperbloom and Burgeon),Xingqiugets an immediate spot in these teams. But unlike Reverse Vaporize, Hyperbloom is much more forgiving and can get away with lower Hydro application. So a lot of other Hydro characters are valid in this spot, such asKamisato Ayato,Sangonomiya KokomiYelan, or even Candance at C6. However,Xingqiuwould still be the easiest to build and use, as well as being the most accessible among them.

Xingqiuwith theSacrificial Swordgenerates good elemental particles, to help himself and the team recharge their burst. He also adds much more survivability to the team, with a damage reduction, small heals, and more importantly resistance to interruptions.

This team has Kuki as a full healer, so we don’t have to rely on healing fromXingqiu, and can build him in a full-damage role. As the sole Hydro character on the team, we need a good chunk ofEnergy Rechargeto sustain him. Fortunately,Sacrificial Swordcovers most ofXingqiu‘sERneeds,on top of getting more energy from the extra cast of his elemental skill. We can go forAttackon Sands,Hydro Damageon Goblet, andCrit RateorCrit Damageon the headpiece for main stats. Our goal is to get as manyEnergy Rechargesas we can from sub-stats.

I prefer to use theSacrificial SwordforXingqiu. It can reset the cooldown ofXingqiu‘sElemental Skill, to use two casts instead of one. It gets better with a higher refinement level, so make sure to get more duplicates of this weapon. Overall it’s the most reliable weapon, even though not the weapon that does the highest damage.

Emblem of Severed FategivesXingqiuthe best personal damage. However, Kuki damage output is much more important. So we have the option to equipXingqiuwithInstructorset. While this makesXingqiu‘s own damage get reduced but is offset by giving the whole team an Elemental Mastery buff. I don’t recommendInstructoroverEmblem of Severed Fate, but it’s a choice you can make.

Dendro is the core element in proccing Bloom reaction with Hydro, so we look for consistent Dendro application from off the field. Among the four Dendro characters in the game up to version 3.3, Nahida and Dendro’s Main characters are the best. While Nahida does more personal damage, and has better AOE, she’s a limited to five-star characters. Every account has a Main character, and unlocks a Dendro version by visiting a statue of the seven inSumeru.

Progressing the Sumeru questline gives the Main Character all six constellations as well. This means gaining a strong Dendro kit without spending any Primogems.

The Dendro Main Character relies on his or her Burst to apply Dendro from off-field, with his/her’s skill mainly used to refund energy for them. The Burst has a unique interaction depending on which element it is in contact first with. If it in contact with Hydro first, its AOE increases. If it is in contact with Electro first though, it starts attacking faster. Usually, more AOE is more useful than a faster attack, as the attack speed increase is not relatively high. So make sure to cast your Hydro skills first, then Dendro, and lastly use Electro.

Any characters standing in the Main Character’s burst gains an extra EM buff. At C6, they gain a damage bonus applied to the element it is first in contact with.

If you have the Dendro Archon Nahida, you can use her instead of the main character.

MC Relies on Burst to function, so they require focusing on theERstat first and foremost. After that, we put everything else intoEM. So we use the ER weapon, ER Sands, EM Goblet, and EM Circlet.

If you useFavonius Swordon Main character, we better useCrit rateCirclet to proc the passive on the weapon more consistently.

You have to keep in mind that our team have three sword users, so we try our best to diversify our weapons. It’s not advised to use the same weapon on more than one character. So we default to using EM weapon on Kuki,Sacrificial SwordforXingqiu, andFavonius Swordwith the Dendro Main Character.

Using burst on cooldown with the Dendro Main character is more important than Kuki. The crit requirement on theFavonius Sword‘s passive is easier to get on the Main Character. Sacrificing EM for more Crit is much more forgivable in this instance.

The new Dendro set, Deepwood Memories is hands down the best artifact set for all Dendro characters. It not only increases Dendro damage, but it shreds the Dendro resistance of enemies. This allows all characters on the team to deal higher Dendro damage, from direct skills and reactions alike. Hyperbloom is the Dendro type reaction, so Deepwood Memories buffs Kuki’s damage, even without her having it equip.

Hyperbloom has a small AOE that can hit a couple enemies if they are close to each other. So Anemo supports are useful in this regard to help group up the enemies. The only Anemo unit that can gather enemies very tightly together to allow for her skill to shotgun isVenti. However,Ventidoesn’t provide buffs to the team, so the other alternative beingSucroseis the better fit.

ThisHyperbloomteam has many uses forSucrose. She gathers enemies and she provides a team-wide EM buff, to increase Kuki’s Hyperbloom and Electrocharged damage. On top of that,Sucrosecan shred Hydro resistance to increaseXingqiu‘s personal damage. When it comes toXingqiu, his burst requires normal attacks to proc.Sucrosecan be a very good driver for this, since she’s ranged, and her normal attacks will proc more swirls. Being built with full EM in mind will make her own reaction damage very high. So even ifSucroseinfuses Electro and ends up stealing Hyperbloom away from Kuki, you will not lose damage.

However,Sucroseis not the only option for the last team slot. You can use another Anemo, such asKaedehara Kazuha. Or rather useZhongliwhich can shred Dendro resistance on top of other elemental resistance. Or you can simply use a second Hydro character, such asYelan, who plays as another sub DPS.

As always,Sucrosegoes for a fullEMon all slots, Goblet, Headpiece, and Sands. That’s meant to maximizetheSwirl reaction damage ofSucrose, and EM sharing buff for the team. Swirl damage is not affected by Attack or Crit stats, so we can fully ignore them. On top of that, theSwirl reaction is affected by character level, soSucroseis one of the characters we can level up all the way to 90.

For sub-stats, you will always need moreEM, andEnergy Recharge. Everything else is irrelevant.

Sacrificial Fragmentsis the best catalyst for Hyperbloom teams. It has a very high Elemental Mastery sub-stat, which contributes to Sucrose’s reaction damage, as well as her EM buff. On top of that, the weapon gives Sucrose a third cast of her skill, by resetting its cooldown of it. This extra cast helps regenerate energy for Sucrose, allowing her to recharge her burst with much less ER. Not to mention the better grouping she gets with the extra skill cast.

Sucrosecan also useThrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, and feed the attack buff toXingqiu. But I don’t recommend that as it forces a limited rotation, meaning switching back and forth betweenSucroseandXingqiuonly.Xingqiu‘s damage is not a huge portion of the team’s overall DPS anyway.

Hakushin Ringis not suitable here, because it only buffs direct Electro damage, not reaction damage making it ineffective for Hyperbloom.

In a Hyperbloom team,Viridescent Venereris not a must, but still a nice bonus to have. Anemo doesn’t react with Dendro, so the artifact set doesn’t buff Hyperbloom damage. However,Sucrosestill can swirl Hydro and Electro.Viridescent Venererwill shred the resistance for both elements. This effectively increasesXingqiudamage, andSucrose’sown swirl, whether it’s a Hydro swirl or Electro swirl. Also electrocharged damage.

Viridescent Venereralso buffs Sucrose’s swirl damage. It gives a higher modifier of 60% damage though, so if fully built,Sucrosecan contribute to a good chunk of the team’s total DPS.
