Larian Studios Opened A New Studio In Warsaw Focused On Two New Games In Development
Larian Studioscontinues to expand following the success ofBaldur’s Gate 3, recognized as one of the most outstanding games of recent years at major industry award ceremonies likeThe Game Awards and BAFTA. The Belgian studio, founded in 1996, recently announced the opening of a new division in Warsaw, Poland, and already has several job openings to bring in new talent.
In addition to this latest office, the company already has a presence in various parts of the world, such as Ghent, Belgium; Barcelona, Spain; Dublin, Ireland; Guildford, United Kingdom; Québec, Canada; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“The decision to open a permanent studio inWarsawshows how seriously we take creativity, collaboration, and innovation in the bustling heart of gaming in Poland,” expressed Ula Jach, the studio director.
As for its future, the company is currently developing two projects withtheir own IP, unlike Baldur’s Gate 3, which was based on the external Dungeons & Dragons license. Additionally, Swen Vincke, the company’s CEO, confirmed earlier this year that he has finished writing the first act of the company’s next game.
Regarding the role of this studio, it’s difficult to draw conclusions due to the lack of details. The job openings available on Larian Studios’ official website include positions we would expect from a company specialized in RPG development: expert RPG designers, writers, producers, and various types of programmers. The only thing that seems clear from looking at the positions is that the creators of Baldur’s Gate 3 will entrust vital tasks to their new branch in Poland.
The independent developer, also behind theDivinitygame series, now has over 400 employees across its six current studios.
In this way, the company presents a contrast to the layoffs and instability crisis currently affecting the video game industry, as happened less than a month ago withPieces Interactive, creators ofAlone in the Dark, and Singularity 6,which laid off 35% of its staffjust weeks after launching their latest production,Palia.
