Swen Vincke, the CEO ofLarian Studios,joked about the development of their new game, saying it might not be ready for another five years.
The creators ofBaldur’s Gate 3have made their next project, which won’t be a DnD sequel, one of the most anticipated games. Although the details are still unclear, Vincke hinted that “it might not be ready until five years from now.”
Normally, any studio would rush to work on a sequel immediately, but Larian has rejected this idea. Hasbro, owner of Wizards of the Coast, has invested over $1 billion in its four studios to satisfyDungeons & Dragonsfans.
“I remember manyStar Warsgames that weren’t what I expected as a player, but when high-quality titles were released, the audience responded. We need to be authentic and focus on quality,” said Dan Ayoub, head of digital product development at Wizards of the Coast.
