Last Epoch Trailer Teases All 15 of the Game’s Advanced Classes
Last Epoch gets a shiny new “Technical” trailer that teases all of its 15 advanced classes, and more ahead of its February launch.
Eleventh Hour Games is ramping up the drip-fed information as it approaches the game’s eleventh hour. In just a few days, their time-bending ARPG Last Epoch will be finally out of early access and will experience itsfull release.
All aboard the hype train, as the developers have released a new trailer that shows off a lof of action featuring the game’s 15 “Mastery” or advanced classes. Furthermore, the team has also gone to the official forums giving us even more tidbits of the changes coming into the full release.
Arguably one of the more exciting parts of the Technical Trailer was the short snippets of each of the game’s 5 base classes and their 3 advanced archetypes. The stalwart Sentinel class showed how to mix might and holy magic with its Paladin, how to summon fiery magical weapons as the Forge Guard, and how to channel the very void itself with the Void Knight.
The more magically inclined Mage in Last Epoch also has a ton of tricks up its sleeve. This character can specialize in becoming an avatar of pure elemental fury by becoming a Sorcerer. Alternatively, you can mix in some more finesse by becoming a Spellblade who enhances their weapon strikes with elemental energy. Even further, the elusiveRunemasterclass allows the player to mix and match elemental attunements to create different combinations of elemental fury.
Primalists in Last Epoch are truly one with nature, focusing on earth and lightning magic with a bit of beast sprinkled in for good measure. Those who walk the path of the land can become Beastmasters who can summon various animals to do their bidding. Alternatively, Shamans can have storm, earth, and lightning to their bidding instead. Last is the shapeshifting Druid, who can become a Werebear, a supportivespriggan, or even a mantis beast with scythe-like arms.
Players who prefer to slip in and out of combat in Last Epoch might find that the rogues are more to their liking. These characters can specialize in close-quarters combat by becoming a Bladedancer, creating a beautiful hymn with their carnage. You can also choose to snipe foes from afar by becoming a Marksman instead and focusing on your bow. The newly-added Falconer is one of the more exotic classes, melding ranged attacks with a loyal Falcon pet that will help pelt foes from a distance (and peck at their eyes!).
Last is the mysterious Acolyte, fueled by death and macabre magic. They can become powerfulLichesthat spread poison and disease wherever they go. Acolytes in Last Epoch also have the choice of becoming full-fledgedNecromancersthat can command their very own army of the dead, complete with fully customizable golems. The newly revealedWarlockwill also let the Acolyte run wild with curses and other hexes.
Just announced over the weekend as well were a lot of details on new items arriving in Last Epoch’s 1.0 release. Players will be getting two new base item types each for boots and gloves, and will also get three base item types each for belts, helms, and body armor. The new base item types should give us more options on an item type’s inherent stats, giving us even more flexibility in creating a character with Last Epoch’s in-depth crafting system.
Last Epoch will also get a staggering 12 new weapon affixes and 33 new general affixes. These won’t be confusing stats like “Additional Damage to enemies on a Tuesday evening while it’s a full moon”, but will be useful in theory-crafting. Some examples are more types of minion damage affixes. Of course, these will include class-specific affixes, especially for Warlocks and Falconers.
Last are five completely new Unique items. Sigeon’s Reprisal is a shield that grants the player a chance to throw their shield at foes upon blocking attacks. Talk about defensive attacks! Another interesting item is Falcon Fists, a rogue-specific unique that makes Cinder Strike hit harder when you have no weapon equipped while also giving you inherent fire damage in melee attacks.
Last Epoch is just a few days away until it finally releases after being in Early Access for quite some time. It will be worth the wait, however, as it is a breath of fresh air for the ARPG genre.
