Lies of Pannounces that it will take advantage of the new PlayStation 5 model when it launches in the coming weeks. It doesn’t specify which aspects will be more refined on the PS5 Pro, but it includes three graphics modes.
Gradually, some publishers and developers are confirming that their recent or past releases will receive specific updates with improvements for the PS5 Pro. Neowiz and Round8 Studio have confirmed that their action RPG soulslike,Lies of P, which launched just over a year ago, will be ready for the new PlayStation 5 model, which goes on sale November 7.
The page on the PS Store, which includes a label on titles with improved performance, resolution, or ray tracing, already displays this distinction for the adventure that’s loosely inspired by the story of Pinocchio.
The details do not specify which aspects will be most refined on the PS5 Pro, butLies of Pincludes three graphics modes: one with better resolution and image quality at 30 fps, a performance mode at 60 fps—with reduced effects and resolution—and a balanced mode at 40 fps on screens compatible with 120 Hz. It’s likely that the balanced mode on the PS5 Pro will now reach 60 fps.
Lies of Pis considered a solid student of FromSoftware’s Souls games. Although it doesn’t innovate much within the action-RPG formula with precise combat and dark fantasy, its quality makes it one of the best alternatives for those already familiar with all of the Japanese developer’s soulslikes.
We can only describe it as one of the pleasant surprises of the season. This time Pinocchio hasn’t lied: it’s a good game.
