Lies of P Shows Off the Legion Arm Options in New Gameplay Footage
Lies of P gives us a glimpse at Pinnochio’s customizable Legion Arm and how he can use it to bring on mass destruction.
Being the magical, lying puppet that he is,Pinnochiohas a customizable prosthetic called the “Legion Arm”. This is an additional option in combat aside from your currently equippedweapons. Pinnochio will have many options available to him, provided he can actually find the upgrades.
What kind of flavors will we have to play with? Let’s find out!
Legion Arms are a powerful option in Lies of P that can definitely turn the tide of battle with their effects. Since they are strong, the Legion Arm will have limited uses. You can restore the arms charges by using specificitemsor resting at aStargazer. Just like other items in Lies of P, the Legion Arm can also be upgraded to have more potent effects or even just flat-out stat upgrades.
Pinnochio starts off with a basic Iron Fist, which literally does nothing except look pretty (if you’re into iron, that is). You will eventually find the Deus Ex Machina, a Legion Arm that deploys timed land mines onto the ground. The mines eventually explode by themselves after a short arming time, causing a large explosion. Upgrading the Deux Ex Machina makes it so that the radius of the resulting explosion is much larger.
If we want to get moredefensive, perhaps picking up the Aegis Legion Arm would be more suited to your playstyle. This gives us an additional move in combat where we can block lesser enemies’ attacks. Once upgraded, the Aegis Arm can explode once an enemy hits it, staggering them and opening them up for a devastating follow-up hit.
Leaning back into our offensive options is the Falcon Eyes Legion Arm. This Lies of P arm basically turns your forearm into a grenade launcher. You can fire off some delayed explosion grenades from this hand, and even aim down sights for better accuracy. Upgrading the Falcon Eyes seems to only upgrade the damage.
We also have the Fluminis, a great option if you like playing with electricity (and who doesn’t). This handy arm lets you charge up a shocking jolt of electricity in your hands which will ultimately stun your enemy. The arm’s upgraded form will allow Pinnochio to even shock foes during the charge-up animation and ultimately cause a much larger bolt of electricity to smite the target.
If we prefer a more crispy option in Lies of P, then you may find the Flamberge more to your liking. This basically lets out a stream of flames from your arm, burning anything to a crisp. Upgrading the Flamberge will let out a much wider cone of flames. It also has the side effect of adding napalm to the stream after a few moments. This creates, you guessed it, an explosion!
Our next option is the Puppet String which has a ton of practical use in combat. Its default state shoots out a small harpoon that impales your target. Pinnochio can then pull in the hapless enemy, letting you wail on them up close and very personally. Once upgraded, the Puppet String can allow Pinnochio to pull himself toward the target instead, allowing you to travel great distances in a single move. Oh, and you can smash the enemy you bump into quite well!
Pandemonium is one of the more unique and esoteric options in Lies of P. The arm is a beautiful turquoise blue but seems to be made of living material somehow. Pandemonium gives Pinnochio the option to spray the battlefield with a dark blue substance. It isn’t quite clear what the exact effect is, but it perhaps slows down enemies or damages anything that walks on it.
Once you upgrade the Pandemonium Legion Arm, you can then also have it spread goop in a line instead of in an arc in front of you. This looks like one of the more interesting combat additions, as it lets you manipulate the battlefield and isn’t purely about damage.
The adventures of Pinnochio is coming very soon, as the title has already Gone Gold ahead of its September 19 release. Be sure to visit our previousWeapons Showcasecoverage that previewedHandlesandBlades, as well as theLies of P Wikifor more information on the game.
