Lies of P The Pinnochio Soulslike Unleashes August 2023

We’ve had a few trailers so far for Lies of P, each withsnippets of combatand hints of what this dark retelling of Pinnochio will hold. We get a rather cryptic and poetic new trailer featuring what looks to be a puppet master at work. A mechanical monstrosity doesn’t even begin to describe the rise of this enemy. Part machine, part undead and whole a lot of madness. This could be the first look at a potential boss fight, which has a supernatural influence. The trailer’s maddened narrator mentions a new “paradigm” and a “new world”. This creature looks to be part of that vision. Souls games are no strangers to enigmatic storytelling, with Lies seemingly taking a leaf out ofElden Ring‘s breadcrumb teasing.

While this trailer purely focused on what we can assume is the big baddy of the game, its P’scombatabilities that really captured our attention. His mechanicalLegion Armin this game has a number of different functions including erupting electricity and even turning into gun. The puppet has seemingly mastered a number of combat skills as he uses not only his slave arm, but a myriad ofWeaponsto take down the nightmare-fueled creations now plaguing the city of Krat. Lies of P’s baroque-inspired setting and a new spin on a classic tale only enhance the overall premise. The game will also havemultiple endings, letting your choices rein the outcome of the game.
