Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, the new game starring Goro Majima and featuring pirates, brings back the classic real-time combat system from the series, which promises to be more visually impressive and fun than ever.
Last week,Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaiiwas announced, an eccentric new entry in SEGA’s beloved franchise, formerly known as Yakuza. The game is set to release on February 28 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, starring Goro Majima, “The Mad Dog of Shimano.”
The unique aspect of this new installment, set in Hawaii likeLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, is that Goro Majima, who has lost his memory, embarks on a quest for a legendary treasure, becoming a pirate and sailing the seas aboard a ship with a large crew. He must fight other modern pirates in both hand-to-hand combat and spectacular naval battles.
Unlike the previous installment,Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, where battles were turn-based like classic JRPGs,Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaiibrings back the series’ classic real-time beat ’em up combat, which will be quite spectacular.
In this gameplay footage, we can see the two combat styles that can be used with Goro Majima. On one hand, there’s theMad Dog, which uses Majima’s speed and agility to execute explosive attacks. On the other, there’s theSea Wolf, a more aggressive style focused on his new pirate personality, using weapons like short swords and pirate tricks.
In addition to the land battles or fights on the deck of ships, the game introduces real-time naval battles, where you will have to upgrade your ship and assemble a crew to fight against rival pirates.
