Lords of the Fallen 2 Announced Its Release Year

CI Gameshas confirmed a sequel toLords of the Fallen, the soulslike action RPG developed byHexWorks. The announcement was not made through a trailer at theSummer Game Festbut via a press release that confirms the initial details.

Additionally, it has been confirmed that the PC version will be published byEpic Games, meaning it will be exclusive to theEpic Games Storethroughout “its entire lifecycle,” as stated by the game’s publisher,CI Games. It has also been revealed that it is being developed usingUnreal Engine 5, the latest version of the engine owned by Epic Games.

The team will again use Unreal Engine 5, which achieved good results in the predecessor—it is one of the most spectacular soulslikes, at least technically—although its debut suffered some performance issues that marred the experience.

The exclusivity of theEpic Games Storeis becoming a strategy increasingly used by several developers. The most recent and perhaps the most notable example is the Kingdom Hearts saga, which announced its launch on Steam three years after releasing in theEpic Games Store, due to a prior temporary exclusivity agreement.

However, it should be noted that this will not be the case forLords of the Fallen 2.As stated by the title’s publisher, we are talking about what appears to be a permanent exclusivity, which is curious considering its predecessor is available onSteam.
