Lords of the Fallen Gets Extended Gameplay Showing Off Boss Pieta and Combat
The latest video presentation for upcoming Lords of the Fallen shows of boss fight again Pieta. Along with combat range with catalysts, bows, crossbows or throwables.
The latest footage for upcoming Lords of the Fallen goes into detail featuring a boss called Pieta. This boss like many you would expect in a challenging souls-like, there are two phases to the battle. The video also showcases the dual worlds. Having been slain in one world Axiom, the player has a last chance to finish the fight in the land of the dead, Umbral. Pieta has some distinct movesets, especially in phase 2. Revealing a pair of wings, raining down walls of swords and having a lot of sweeping moves.
Players can use a mix of melee, magic as well as ranged abilities, which are seamlessly interwoven. You can map out additional magic or ranged skills on controller, making access much easier. This sets to speed up combat and reduce the need to swap out the abilities chosen.
Also shown is how co-op will work in Lords of the Fallen. To summon a player to join you, you will simply need to visit one of the rest points or vestige. Here players get a choice of fighting alongside a friend or joining a random player. Players will also get to craft their own vestiges. In order to do so certain rare resources will be needed and only one can be spawned at a time.
Stepping into the land of the dead will cost you one of your two lives. You can make your way back to the living by going to one of the permanent vestiges. Vestiges are also used for levelling up your stats.
We also get a quick look atmagicin the game. There arethree different types of sorcery, falling under Rhogar, Radiant and Umbral. Rhogar uses the power of flames to destroy enemies.
With these different magic types combined with the use of the Soul Flay, players can extract the soul of an enemy temporarily, using the environment against them in Umbral. Soul charges are limited, so considering when best to use it is key.
