Lost Ark gets wind of tons of updates, raids, a new class, and more during the LOA ON SUMMER showcase last June 24th.
Smilegate RPG’s LOA ON SUMMER event provided exciting updates and plans forLost Ark. Specifically, they catered to the interests of fans eagerly awaiting new content. While the entire showcase is a preview of what’s to come immediately in the Korean version, a lot of the QoL changes will find their way into the West much earlier.
July will bring a wave of quality-of-life changes to enhance the overall player experience and prepare the ground for the major progression updates coming in August. These changes include more accessible progression mechanics such as increased success rates for honing gear and reduced requirements for honing materials and gold costs.
A Legendary wandering merchant will be introduced to facilitate the collection of stepping-stone cards, making it easier for players to obtain valuable resources. Additionally, players will no longer need to use Pheons to transfer ability stones and accessories within the same Roster. This should be one of the biggest sighs of relief in gearing alts, as the game is primarily designed to have a healthy roster of characters instead of having a singular “main”.
The Maharaka Festival, a summertime event, will return with various new activities. Players will have the opportunity to bask in the virtual sun, engage in unique games, and earn valuable progression rewards that will aid in preparing for the arrival of new raids in August. Among the festival’s special activities is the “Run, Mokokos!” section, where players can compete against each other as Mokoko characters, navigating obstacles to reach the finish line. The festival promises a delightful diversion for adventurers of all levels.
August marks the arrival of significant changes aimed at improving the experience for both new and returning players. The focus will be on consolidating Tier 1 and Tier 2, streamlining progression, and introducing various quality-of-life improvements. One of the key benefits for new and returning players is the ability to catch up faster, as they will be able to earn older Legion Raid materials more quickly.
Progression events, such as the Powerpass and an upgraded Hyper Express Event, will provide additional support and rewards, allowing players to level up their characters efficiently. Lost Ark’s Hyper Express Event in particular will be upgraded. The honing boosts will last up to item level 1490. It will even have some goodies left over until item level 1540.
The consolidation of earlier Tiers will eliminate repetitive progression, enabling players to progress swiftly to the exciting Tier 3 endgame content. This is actually quite a large overhaul, as Amazon Games will be removing systems entirely from the game. For instance, Tier 1 and 2 will be combined into a “New Tier 2”. Old gear will be converted into a new set, which also include set bonuses like those in Tier 3.
The adjustments in Tier 3 include updates to gear sets, crafting ingredients, honing levels, and rewards, and creating a more streamlined upgrade path. Material costs in particular will be reduced across the board. An unexpected change also details that materials used to craft Relic-level Brelshaza Gear is being removed from the game. In its place, players will earn the “Phantom Intentions” currency from both Normal and Hard Mode raids to craft Relic gear.
Okay, so Amazon discussed what’s coming to the West. What about Lost Ark’s Korean version? Firstly, a new class called Souleater will be introduced on July 19th in Korea. Thisclasswields a scythe and appears to be a heavy-hittingassassin, offering quite a reaping experience. It’s a shame that they didn’t name this class the Reaper instead. Just like other assassin classes, the Souleater has some demonic tricks up her sleeve.
In September, players can look forward to the highly anticipated Thaemineraid. This features the strongest of the legion commanders. This darkness-themed raid will introduce a new gauge mechanic related to darkness, similar to the plague gauge in Akkan. Additionally, the VeskalGuardian Raidwill be released alongside the Thaemine raid.
Another notable addition is the Transcendence system, a new progression mechanic coming with the Thaemine update. More details about this system will be revealed in September. Furthermore, a summer event with new skins, a timed challenge called Hanumatan trial mode, and various updates and buffs for new players were announced.
Lost Ark players can look forward to these upcoming changes, which aim to streamline progression systems. Hopefully, these changes provide ample opportunities for new and returning players to engage with the game’s exciting content.
Smilegate RPG and Amazon Games are dedicated to keeping adventurers in Arkesia entertained and engaged. With the promise of new raids, progression events, and a summer gift to celebrate the player community, Lost Ark continues to change and evolve.
