Lost Ark March Update “The Art of War” Brings Along the Artist Class
Lost Ark is getting its regular monthly content drop. This March, we have the Artist Class as well as new activities to look forward to.
What do we have to be excited about? Is March worth a revisit to the Arkesian shores? Let’s jump into the update’s highlights!
The Lost Ark Artist makes use of her oversized paintbrush to create various strokes with her magical ink. She can damage enemies, help allies, or even summon creatures by using her paint skills. As a pure support character, her individual offensive capabilities are quite limited. However, she shines when helping out her team.
Artists make use of a Harmony Meter that fills up automatically whenever she successfully hits an enemy with her skills. As she builds up harmony, she can then cast either Sunrise or Moonfall. Sunrise creates a small marble on the battlefield, healing all nearby allies. Moonfall is the opposite, as this increases the damage dealt by the Artist and her entire group.
The Artistclasshas two distinct class engravings, just like everyone else. For her, these are the defensive Full Bloom and the offensive Recurrence. It seems like the overwhelming majority of Artists would pick Full Bloom, as this dramatically increases the healing potential of Sunrise. Recurrence, on the other hand, only buff’s the artist’s Crit Rate and Crit Damage whenever she uses either Harmony Skills.
OtherSkillsfor the Lost Ark Artist are divided into two categories, Stroke and Paint. Skills of the former category tend to be more instant effects, while Paint will leave behind various over-time effects. Talk about leaving a mess!
January’s Lost Ark Updateadded the new continent of Rowen, a PVP-filled mega map. There wasn’t too much to it, aside from story missions and random PVP bloodbaths. More ordered chaos will be arriving in March, as the Order vs Rebellion wars will start.
Players will need to represent their chosen faction, and then represent it in massive 96-player battles. These faction wars will have players duke it out, conquer bases, and destroy their opponents in large-scale PVP. At its most basic, players will be fighting over the generation of Magick. The more Magick each side amasses during a fight will determine how well-rewarded its participant will be.
Faction Wars will happen every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8:00 PM server time. The weekend will be special, as Saturdays and Sundays will also have a battle at 3:00 PM.
Since the Artist will just release next week, and we do know that the Brelshaza Hard Mode Legion Raid will come in April, how do we get the new class up to speed? Thankfully, the Lost Ark team has confirmed that the March Update will have tons of catch-up mechanics added yet again.
The ever-familiar Punika Powerpass, Hyper Express Plus, and Ark Pass are all making a return next week. However, we will also get a new Story Express and Engraving Support systems that should also help catapult us into raiding form.
The new Engraving Support System is actually a feature of the already existing Hyper Express Plus. Any character under the influence of the Hyper Plus track will be eligible to also get enhancements to their engravings.
Applying Engraving Support to a character will let you choose 4 different engravings. At the moment, it wasn’t mentioned whether you can choose class and battle or just one type. After the selection, the character can equip the choices and have them instantly be Level 3 (Epic Level). This would put the character in a 4×3 which is considered the bare minimum if you want to attempt endgame dungeons.
Baby Characters (from item level 1 onwards) can be designated as Story Express Characters. This event lets players clear specific story missions that will grant us access to valuable progression items. Some of the rewards include a 2-week Crystalline Aura, Class Engravings, and of course, honing materials.
Lost Ark has been receiving a constant flow of updates, with every month dropping major content drops. The West has been steadily catching up, and is set tobridge the gapbetween the more mature regions. Now all we need is the newAeromancerclass and a few more raids!
