Wizards of the CoastandSquare Enixrevealed more details about theFinal Fantasy set in Magic: The Gathering, along with additional information about the collection atMagicConLas Vegas.
The set will cover the entireFinal Fantasystoryline, from the original 1987 game toFinal Fantasy XVI, recently released for PC.
Additionally, theFinal Fantasyset will also be available in digital format for the card gameMagic: The Gathering Arena.
The newFinal Fantasythemed set represents the largest collection of illustrations from the JRPG saga. Some have been created by regularMagic: The Gatheringartists, while others feature contributions from veteran Square Enix artists.
The collection includes magical creatures from theFinal Fantasyuniverse, like Behemoth and the adorable Chocobos, as well as iconic characters such as Cloud, Sephiroth, Terra, Lightning, Noctis, and Tidus.
“At Square Enix, we are always looking for new ways to breathe life into the rich tradition and legacy ofFINAL FANTASY. This collaboration is important to us because it allows us to merge the immersive narrative ofFINAL FANTASYwith the fun strategic gameplay ofMagic: The Gathering, something fans of both franchises will enjoy,” says Shoichi Ichikawa, producer of the saga.
Of course, the set also includes the series’ most charismatic enemies, as well as summons, key locations, and much more.
“This collaboration goes beyond the cards; it celebrates decades of iconic characters, legendary stories, and unforgettable moments from one of the most beloved video game franchises. Fans ofFINAL FANTASYwill get to experience these characters in an entirely new way,” assures Zakeel Gordon, Product Architect at Wizards of the Coast.
