Marisa of Liartop Mountain A Tabletop-Inspired RPG About Magical Books Announced

Developer Unknown X has announced during the Touhou showcase a new digital tabletop-inspired game called Marisa of Liartop Mountain.

The details tease it will player’s choices that will affect the whole story, with plenty of freedom when it comes to making decisions. Battles will pit players in the path of monsters, winning or losing depending on dice rolls. The developer teases the game aims to have a good balance of a tabletop experience along with “high tempo” in terms to digital game momentum.

From the trailer it looks to mix the tabletop experience with a dungeon crawler, where players will be relying on their RNG to win battles. Hopefully there is a good mix of mechanics to make the encounters feel fair and unrepetitive. The mix of dreamy 3D Alice in Wonder setting, and cute hand-drawn visuals add to the sense of tabletop roleplaying.

The game also has participating creators Scenario and Hugo Hall. While the music is composed by RD-sounds and theme song sung by Sarasa Toumi.
