Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age To Receive New Comic Series
Fans of both games and comic books, of which there are many, will be happy to know that bothMass EffectandDragon Agewill be receiving new comic book series next year. Popular imprint Dark Horse Comics will be publishing the stories, having published past comics in the Mass Effect and Dragon Age universes, as well as from Star Wars and other video game properties likeThe Witcher.
Comics are a great way to promote a game as well as expand upon the stories and worlds presented, and we’re seeing more of these tie-ins, such as the recentDark Souls 3comic. Ready to add 2 new titles to your monthly pull list? Or is some relaxing coloring more your speed? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments.

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.
Maybe we can create a lore summary page on the wiki that explains the contents of the comics for those who don’t care for them.
Oh God. Not more back story and plot delivered by comics, it’s a terrible idea.
My solution: Don’t see the new Star Wars movie, don’t read the new books. I have an intense dislike for J.J. Abrams anyway for time-travel retconning the original Star Trek movies out of existence (and my earliest visual memory is actually of being on the set of that movie).
The art book cover looks good, somewhat reminiscent of Prometheus, but I won’t be pre-ordering it since BW hasn’t revealed much from the game
Note to self: one should not judge a book by its cover
To be fair and in Bioware’s defense the reputation of deception, the fact that it sold very poorly and the huge number of error’s in the novel scarpped any chance of the rewrite being released. Bioware probably concluded that the cost of publishing the rewrite won’t be worth it since at best it’d only sell a handful of copies which understandable tbh.
I love comics.. so much. I even have a few ME ones. But this time around… I dunno. Bioware is just not the same anymore I think I will stick to Spawn and Cloak and Dagger.
Lol for the right price I’ll take a selfie of it.
I just imagined E sitting on the floor wriggling his legs as he colors comics, tongue out on his lip corner, hands dirty with a mix or red and green, oblivious to everyone else.
I will pay good money for whoever obtains this picture for future blackmail.
Something along those lines. I didn’t follow it much, so I’m no expert. That’s why I tried to summon him.
Updated? As in rewritten? Ha.
If was here you would’ve seen an angry reply, because Bioware stated that they would release an updated version of that book, but they never did.
Haha reading that thread showed me it was Deception that I didn’t care for. The ones by Drew Karpyshyn I really loved, and I enjoy his writing in general especially his Darth Bane series for Star Wars. That was the one bit of EU content invalidated by the new Star Wars canon that really upset me.
I’m anxiously awaiting those novels, as I’ve read all of the prior ones and found them all except one really great reads. I can’t remember which one I didn’t care for, but I believe it was the most recent.
I’m a huge fan of expanded universe content outside of games and movies and love getting novels and comics that build upon the worlds. Some are executed better than others.
Interesting. That means there is a delay. There should be a ME:A-related comic or book to be released in October this year, if memory serves me well.
Edit 1: There was news about this on BSN in May this year (IIRC). The first one was called “Andromeda Initiation” and was, according to a German site specialized in game related books, to be released in August this year. The page was deleted some time later. Found the BSN thread archived here[/url:1zozysa6].
Edit 2: The August date of the first one in a series of four was later confirmed on BSN in June. The thread about this is archived here[/url:1zozysa6] on Fexralife.
Get your crayons ready!
It sounds silly at first, but I’ve actually been into the adult coloring book thing for a while now, finding that it’s great at focus and relaxation. Specifically I like creating mandalas as a therapeutic tool but who’s to say that can’t be the case for coloring a picture of my homie Garrus?
