Miasma Chronicles Announced to Be Launching May 23rd

If the studio sounds familiar that’s because they are behind the tactical RPGMutant Year Zero. Miasma Chronicles on the other hand follows a different tact, featuring Elvis, and his side-kick robot brother Diggs. The title is set in a world where the Miasma wall has separated Elvis from his mother. On this side of the wall, people are surviving in makeshift towns. Blending visually impressive cut scenes set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic world with isometric gameplay.

Players will face a range of enemies including amphibian-looking monsters that wield bows and arrows. Using walls for cover, and taking on strategies such as flanking. Elvis also has a metal glove that has some interesting abilities and might be the key to getting through the miasma wall.

A wide variety of guns come with different powers and abilities. All are fully upgradable with scopes and attachments. Each has different uses, such as shotguns being able to blast through cover, sniper rifles to knock back foes from their cover and the Bouncer which bounces projectiles across the map.

The title features both Light and Full Tactical combat. In Light Tactical combat, players will have reduced RNG odds, making for a more “approachable” gameplay experience while still setting a challenge. Full Tactical on the other hand concentrates on making use of critical chance. By manipulating weapons, tactical positioning and upgrades, players can gain 100% critical chance, and anything over gets converted into bonus damage.

You can stealthily take on the battlefield by searching for the perfect spot for an ambush, or pick off enemies to reduce the number you will face. Previously the studio previewed some of theearly footagewhich showcased some pre-alpha gameplay.

Miasma Chronicleswill be released on May 23rd for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
