The video comes with a multitude of new details, including more about its world, characters, story, and creatures. Something that has subtly passed through the official material but delighted players is that Wilds, our seikret mount, will be very useful thanks to its agility and sense of smell. “You can also use your slingshot and certain types of items while riding your mount, allowing you to recover health, sharpen weapons, or even gather materials on the go with ease,” saysCapcom.
The surprise is that thisseikretalso allows you to store an extra weapon in its weapon holster, enabling you to switch between two weapons of your choice while hunting and better adapt to each situation, for example alternating between cutting weapons and bows.
Capcomhas provided some details about its story, which will take us to the ranks of a special team of the Forbidden Lands Research Commission: “With full voice acting for the first time in the Monster Hunter series, the hunter ventures into the unknown with their companions, including Alma, the guild-designated trainer, their Palico companion, and a mysterious child.”
Biomes will play a significant role in this installment. The team describes them as multidimensional and capable of transforming in unexpected ways: “The first revealed scenario is the Windward Plains, a vast region encompassing harsh deserts, twisted rock formations, and rolling prairies teeming with life.”
These lands are populated by dangerous monsters, such as Dalthydon, a herbivorous wyvern that migrates seasonally, and Ceratonoth, which relies on males to protect the herd from furious storms with well-developed dorsal horns that serve as lightning rods.
The Windward Plains also includeDoshaguma. Though enormous and territorial, these tusked beasts are curiously sometimes seen prowling the plains in aggressive packs. Meanwhile, the formidable amphibianChatacabrauses its environment and adhesive saliva to become an even stronger adversary by armoring its body with natural materials, such as minerals.
Hunters will have new gameplay features, new tools, and weapons. In addition to the aforementioned seikret, which allows for weapon sharpening on the go, gathering materials, and more. “The 14 iconic weapon types of the series return inMonster Hunter Wildsand have now evolved to include new actions.
Additionally, the game introduces completely new systems, such as Focus Mode, which offers hunters more precise control when aiming, protecting, and attacking the weak points of monsters,” says Capcom. The new slingshot shooting system also provides additional abilities, including contextual actions and the power to collect items from a distance even when mounted on their seikret.
