Monster Hunter World Reignites Player Count on PC

A strange phenomenon is happening in Monster Hunter World as the concurrent player count continues to climb despite no new content announced for the game.

The next major entry in the Monster Hunter franchise was announced last month, but players of Monster Hunter World have been on the uptick. Ever since MH Wilds was revealed at The Game Awards in December, new and returning players have been playingWorld. This is a strange occurrence since there was no announcement for new content for World and there is also the latest entryRisefor PC and consoles. However, Worlds has been a fan favourite and now has started attracting players once again.

Recently Capcom has been organising a community event called “Return to World”. This involves community managers streaming gameplay of Monster Hunter World on popular platforms such as Steam and Twitch.

The most recent title for Monster Hunter is actually the mobile version Now, which has a similar lineup to World. 19 of thelarge monstersthat you come face to face within World are now in the on-the-go version. Favourites such asRathalosandBariothhave all made it to Now. This could also spur players to try out World or return as they battle their favourite behemoths.

Another factor is the Steam Winter sale has many gems on sale including World which could be picked up for as low as $10. While the sale has ended, the numbers still seem to be yo-yo-ing with some pretty high numbers.

A recent New Year’s message from Tsujimoto also shared we’ll be finding out what the all-time fan favourite monster is in March which coincides with Monster Hunter’s 10th Anniversary.

Have you recently returned to World? Are you playing for the first time? Let us know your favourite monsters and what you’re hoping to see in Wilds.
