Moonlighter Announces Sequel with First Gameplay Reveal
Developed by Digital Sun and published by 11 bit studios, the originalMoonlighterwas a surprise hit, combining Zelda-like action, roguelike mechanics, and shop management to great acclaim.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vaultputs players back in the shoes of Will, the adventurous merchant from the original game. Now stranded with his companions in the mysterious dimension of Tresna, Will seizes the opportunity to restore his honor, rebuild his shop’s reputation, and find a way home.
The sequel maintains the mix of dungeon-crawling, RPG action, and shop management that fans loved. One of the most noticeable changes, however, is the switch from the original’s pixel-art aesthetic to a charming new 3D graphical style.
Once again, players will explore dungeons filled with dangers and treasures, requiring strategic decisions about when to retreat with their loot and when to push forward. The collected loot can be used to craft better equipment, enabling deeper exploration. Alternatively, players can sell their findings in Will’s shop, maximizing profits and even customizing the store’s decor to attract more customers.
In addition to shop management, players will have the opportunity to invest in the village of Tresna. Supporting local businesses will unlock new opportunities and expand the gameplay experience.
