New Fallout 4 Info Pouring In
In a development that has shocked no one anywhere, early press release copies of Fallout 4 are being played and the proverbial beans are being spilled. It’s going to be hard for even the most casual of fans to avoid seeing something Fallout 4 related for the next week, much less stay spoiler free. However, in an effort to satisfy both the spoiler-ok and spoiler-free fans, we’ll do our best to report on what’s coming out without ruining too much. We’ll provide links to relevant wiki pages for those who want to dig deeper. Here are some highlights:
Expected by many to be a standard feature of the vanilla game, hardcore is not a part of the new entry. The presentdifficulty modesare as follows:
We’re not 100% sure what the details of Survival mode are, and how it differs from a Hardcore mode. We can probably expect a mod in the future to rectify this omission.
Settlementsare a robust addition to the game. Although not mandatory, they are said to provide the player with very worthwhile rewards if properly managed. They are persistent, so even if you are overcome by an attack, all you lose is people. The objects and buildings you place will always remain, so no need to worry about losing all of your hard work.
The game world itself is also predictably massive and populous. No confirmation on exactly how large but on par with what we were expecting. Thelocationsaren’t all shanty towns either, there are some massive and populated urban areas to explore.
The much discussed dialogue is present, with the entire system overall earning positive reviews. Conversations play out a bit differently, with more dynamic views of both participants (similar to Mass Effect).
Some notes aboutweaponsandarmorin the game:
We’ll keep adding more updates as more is revealed. One of the best ways to stay on top of what is getting entered is by keeping on eye on theRecent Changessection of the wiki. NewNPCs,Questsand more are going to be added daily.
Hype Train is basically off the rails at this point, this is one of the most anticipated games of all time. Get your time off, food and beverage situation squared away shortly, it’s going to be a long, irradiated party. The bombs on your social life drop next Tuesday, November 10th.

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.
Very sad about the loss of Hardcore mode as well. I’m sure 4 will be great but I also have a feeling i’ll be going back to New Vegas once I finish 4 since FO3 struggled with replayability whereas NV had it in spades, imo.
From what I’ve seen so far, the Skyrim influence is strong with this one. And this makes me happy in my pants.
A bit silly for them to take out hardcore mode (even though that will be among the first mods).
I’m figuring a mod like that is going to come to the console versions as well. I’m actually quite excited to try out mods, I don’t play on PC and would love to see what it’s all about.
No hardcore mode? No problem. It started as a FO3 mod anyway. I’ll likely be playing this one on PC for that reason. Haven’t visited theNexusin a while (you’re welcome). Can’t wait.
Very excited. Sold my Pipboy edition for a profit (feel a bit guilty, but I didn’t originally preorder with plans to scalp. My phone just happened to not be compatible)
So I just got it digital. Made 100 bucks tho. Woo
—–Boston? I expect weird accents Bethesda or you ruin my immersionThough on second thoughts, having to hear Bostonians throughout the many hours of gameplay may make me kill myself!
LALALALALALALALALA I’m not listening! I already spoiled my Fallout 3 story and game experience by looking it up before playing the game to see if I would be interested. I’m not spoiling My Fallout 4. I only know the basics. The game takes place in Boston, 200 years into the new age. It has a bunch of cool new features, and it. looks. awesome. When I go in, I’m going for full surprises. I will unplug my internet if I have to!
No Hardcore mode? That broke my heartFallout 4 isn’t as desert-y as Fallout New Vegas, so injecting a Hardcore mode wouldn’t make sense as FNV.I think this Survival option means less supplies etc.Anyway, I’m definitely looking forward to this game
Edited.
