New Overwatch Hero Revealed
Ana’s Biotic Rifle is her long range primary weapon that fires healing darts at allies, and darts that do damage over time or knock enemies unconscious making her a very useful support specialist. She can perform valuable healing but can still get herself out of a bind on her own.
As for herabilities, she features a Biotic Grenade which damages enemies and heals allies over an area of effect. Useful for clustered skirmishes to give your team the upper hand. The grenade also buffs allies by allowing them to receive more healing than normal. Alternatively, enemies caught in the field will not be able to receive any healing for a short period of time.
Ana’s ult is the Nano Boost, which is a friendly teammate buff that confers a bonus to a targeted ally’s movement speed, damage, and damage resistances. This handy ultimate ability will turn any friendly into a 1 person wrecking crew, giving players a chance to take the upper hand at a critical junction in a match.
PC players can get to trying out Ana today, through the Public Test Realm from Blizzard’s Battle.net client. She will be available for everyone through an upcoming patch that will bring some gameplay balancing changes to the Heroes as well as adjustments to competitive play. We’ll keep you updated when we know more about the patch’s release and specific notes! Excited to give Ana a try? Thoughts on what she brings to the table? Let us know in the comments!

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.
Oh lawd, the Ana spam. I think maybe 1 out of every 30 Ana players will actively use the heal function. The rest are busy pretending to be Widowmakers. When will this nightmare end!?
There is a patch available on PS4, it’s 2gbs I assume this is the one that has Ana and all the balance changes. I will confirm in a bit.
Edit: Yep, this is the patch.

Nice to know now both the offensive snipers will basically never be played well again
Ha I love the pic.
OK, everyone, the real nerf is here…

They fixed the hitbox of his arrows.
NEVER AGAIN.
Lol…where do you think the hyperlinks in the articles lead to? General rule of thumb, if we’re covering the game on the site, it’s a game of interest, i.e. there is a wiki for it.
To be honest E I was unaware we had an Overwatch wiki
It’s almost as if we had a wiki for it ourselves. That people could reference, and add to if there was missing data…

To be honest I don’t know where you got the idea that this game was more than just TF2 with characters and backstory
Honestly I think she has some really interesting ideas in her kit:
Support/sniper- This is obviously refreshing and gives a VERY different support playstyle. Diversity is something support really neededPreventing enemy heals- This is a pretty amazing idea. Stopping roadhog from gulping up 300HP, or stopping healing on a specific targetTranquilizer bullet- This brings a whole new level of taking someone out th game. it lasts for 6 seconds and is knocked off by damage. However, this will allow you to take out a particularly dangerous threat or to simply give numbers advantage temporarilyBuff ultimate- This is a pretty awesome ultimate for wombo-combo. Like Zarya’s ult, it is a massive enabler, but is also an ult that will allow a party member to push hard. This is something that hasn’t really been seen on an offensive front- though Torbjorn obviously had this for defensive purposes to negate pushes.
In my opinion, she could be an amazing addition to the support class. However, it seems clear to me that she could not replace a defacto healer in Lucio or Mercy, despite having far more potent regular healing than zenyatta.
Edit- here is her page telling you of all the potencies/cooldowns of her abilities
https://overwatch.wiki.fextralife.com/Ana
She’s highly balanced.Only 200hp. No movement abilities. Her placement in the trailer is highly misleading. Her damage is over time and looks to be completely counterable by a healer.her unscoped is a projectile and her scope is hitscan.her ULT is a damage buff, a movement speed buff, and a damage resistance buff.her biotic nade is aoe. it heals allies and makes all other heals to the effected allies better for a short time. it also prevents the enemies affected from being healed for a small time.No idea how powerful the debuff is for her other ability.and her pistol is a stun that makes someone asleep for 6 seconds but they wake up instantly when they take any kind of damage.
Due to how versitile she is she doesn’t master anything. Widowmaker still does better raw damage outright. and it’s instant. mercy and zen buffs show that she won’t replace any dedicated healer either. And I’m betting to compensate for her highly versatile nade it’s going to have a 10-12 second cool down. and the actual damage/heal it does won’t be much. Again she also has no mobility. which makes her fall back on her stun pistol. and because she doesn’t do outrageous damage she can’t “one and done” stun someone and headshot them. Meaning she’d stun and then run as fast as she can.
Honestly her abilities just sound like an amalgamation of what the other heroes already have. This is why this game needs more mechanics to mess with. How about abilities that stop other heroes cooldowns? Or steal some of their ultimate energy? There’s so much that they can do, doesn’t have to be afraid and locked to “deal more damage” or “heal faster”, otherwise this is just TF2 with less customization
I think the things that are going to keep WM a reliable pick are going to be damage, mobility, and her ult. Damage seems obvious in that I assume WM will simply have more damage potential for when she actually shoots enemies. Then for everything Ana brings I haven’t seen any explanation of how she’ll move around to actually get to her “sniper spots,” making me assume that WM’s tether is going to allow her either more options of sniper locations or at least faster/easier access to the good sniper locations. And you can’t really argue that WM’s ult is one of the absolutely most useful ones in the game just due to the sheer amount of information it affords your team in stopping/disrupting the enemy (I’d personally argue that it’s the second most influential ult in the game right after Zarya’s).
So the situation has always been the same as I predicted way back when the rumors started. When comparing the two snipers (because despite the game saying so I don’t consider Hanzo a sniper), you’ll need a situation where Ana’s utility is more useful than just outright killing the targets immediately like WM would do. I can imagine her outclassing WM on healing-heavy teams or against heavy turtling teams where you already know where most of the enemy is and Ana’s ult is going to be better at breaking through the front of a defense.
Can’t wait till console players have to wait for an extra 2-3 weeks before we can play her
Good thing I’m unable to play overwatch until then anyways as I’m not in England!
He should be able to kill those you named because he can “6 shot” everything that has 200 HP or less after using his “fan the hammer” skill, of course he must not fail any bullet now since they reduced the dmg every bullet did.
The problem with Mcree is that he could “6 shot” tanks.
About the new support. I wonder how much she heals and how good is her ultimate. She sounds more useful than widowmaker.
She looks pretty useful right outside of the box. Her ult looks like it could really be a difference maker, like grabbing a star in Mario Bros.
So her weapon of choice is a sniper/medigun rifle.
That sounds……interesting.
Poor Mccree, already nerfed so hard you can’t even counter the characters you were supposed to counter before (Tracer,Genji, etc).
And now you became the official butt-monkey of Blizzard. YOu poor, poor man…
