New Witcher 3 Patch to Expand Romance Options

To address fan concerns that certain aspects of the romance options inWitcher 3were undeveloped in relation to others, a forthcoming patch will add some extra dialogue options asintimatedby CD Projekt Red Community Coordinator Marcin Momot. There is no word on the exact release time for this update, but this has been a longtime issue acknowledged by the developer.

The relationship in particular question is the romance option with Triss, which many fans have felt to be lacking in its development, whereas opting for Yennefer offered the players much more in the way of dialogue. That led to the option for romancing Yennefer feel much less hamfisted in comparison. The Witcher as a franchise is certainly not one to shy away from matters of the heart (or flesh) so it’s no surprise to see CD Projekt Red putting an extra bit of effort to smooth out the experience.

The romantic vein is being explored much more in games, and players are starting to ask for a bit more realism in what they are presented with, and for the choices they make to matter. It’s nice to see acknowledgement and reciprocation from the creators on that issue. We’ll be sure to update when we have a concrete date for the patch release. How do you feel about the impending changes? Let us know in the comments.

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.

And still no fleshed out romance chain for Uma? Pity.

Didn’t play as much witcher 3 as i’d wanted to but i was surprised when i heard Triss was a minor part in the game, i know he’d been yearning for Yennefer but Triss was an integral part in the previous 2 games, so not surprised on the change.
