I’ll break these down by category for easy viewing, and this guide is being updated for New World Aeternum. Many weapons have changed bonuses, but they are still some of the best out there and still drop from the same bosses listed in this Guide.

New World Aeternum Best Early Game Weapons & Locations

Let’s take a look at Weapons, since these are probably the most sought-after in New World: Aeternum, especially from those who have had poor luck with drops. Keep in mindthese items are Uniquesso they will spawn with thesame stats in the same place over and over, and they are alsoBind on Pick Upso you cannot trade them. Also, please note that many items inNew Worldhave a required level to drop but a much lower level to actually use.

Note that if you are looking for good Weapons that you can use around level 20, I highly recommend farming Sir Rulav the Jovial in Porta Martis War Camp directly north of the Settlement in Monarch’s Bluff (Prydwen Hamlet). He drops items you can use at level 20, they are all Bind on Equip, so you can trade and sell them, and all of them are Item Power 350 which is excellent.The downside is he has a very large loot pool, and does NOT drop Greatswords, Flails or Blunderbusses.

Considering that there are plenty of opportunities for Greatswords to gain grit, it’s a good perk to have.

Stephanus’ Masterpieceis aRareGreatsworddropped byArmorer Stephanus, aLostboss located inCorbenic CastleinMonarch’s Bluff. It drops at level 15, with a level requirement of 22, and includes a gem socket with a replaceable gemstone, the gemstone has the perkGambit II, which grants a 6% damage boost when your stamina isn’t full. Its notable perk,Slowing Rupture, slows enemies hit byRoaring Ruptureby 31% for 5 seconds. This is a great early-level greatsword because of its included gemstone which allows a constant damage boost because you often won’t have full stamina while in combat.

TheEye of the Stormis aRareBlunderbussdropped byIwazaruinDeadman’s CoveinMonarch’s Bluff. It has the same name as another sword but they are unrelated. It drops atlevel 17but you need to be atlevel 23to use it. It also has an occupied gem slot that can be replaced, its gem has the perkIgnited IIwhich converts 50% of your weapon damage to Fire and also changes your weapon’s scaling to INT if your INT is higher. Not bad if you’re also pairing this with a Fire Staff. With Iwazaru’s relatively quick respawn time, it’s an easy weapon to farm if you’re looking to get an early-game edge. TheEye of the Stormis a great choice for players who need a good early Blunderbuss.

Mizaru’s Needleis aRareRapierdropped byMizaru, aLostenemy inDeadman’s CoveinMonarch’s Bluff. It drops at level 17, with a level requirement of 23 to use. The weapon has no gem socket but does have a nice perk inSundering Riposte, which inflictsRendon targets, reducing their armor by 18% for 10 seconds. This makes it a great choice if you useRiposte, as the armor reduction boosts your damage output on enemies because of the reduced armor debuff. His respawn time is around1 minute, making it easy to farm. It has an empty gem socket, letting you place gems that could help you out. You must belevel 32for this weapon to drop.

TheSharktoothis anEpicRapierwithout agem socket, dropped byChing Shih the Shark, aLostenemy found inMinnow’s RevengeinRestless Shore. This weapon drops atlevel 39. While it doesn’t have a gem socket, it does have the perkKeen Tondowhich increases your crit chance by 21% if you attack someone afflicted with Tondo’s bleed debuff. With a respawn time of around1 minute, Ching Shih can be farmed fairly quickly, making theSharktootha great option for players looking to add a powerful rapier to their arsenal.
