New World Gets Chilly in Season 4, Titled “Eternal Frost”

New World details its plans for the Eternal Frost update this coming December. The frosty patch is just in time for the winter holidays.

The latest update for New World, the popular MMORPG from Amazon Games, is set to launch on December 12. Its newest update, titled Eternal Frost, will bring a host of new features and content to the game, including a newExpedition, a new season story, new Artifacts, and more.

This should be one of the best times for players to jump back in to explore the New World. What else can we look forward to? Let’s find out!

New World’s Eternal Frost update will continue the Rise of the Angry Earth storyline, which began with the previous patch in October of this year. Players will have to face a new threat from a rogue Knight of the Round Table, who has discovered ancient secrets of the Ancients and plans to unleash a perpetual winter on Aeternum. To stop him, players will have to team up with the Silver Crows, a faction of explorers and adventurers, and enlist the help of a fiery mage named Daichi.

One of the main additions of the Eternal Frost update is the new Expedition, The Glacial Tarn. This is a level 65 dungeon located in the Great Cleave region, where players will have to venture into a frozen cave complex beyond the Empyrean Forge. There, they will encounter enemies and obstacles infused with Ice Magic, because this is a frost-themed expansion. Players will also face off against the villainous Knight, Ser Loth. To defeat him, players will have to harness the power of the Empyrean Flame, a primordial source of fire magic.

The update will also introduce eight new Artifacts, which are powerful weapons and armor that have unique abilities and quests. Some of the Artifacts include the Boltcaster Bow, which can stun and shock enemies with lightning bolts, the Winged Shoes, which can increase the wearer’s speed and reduce their cooldowns, and the Frozen Gauntlet, which can freeze and shatter enemies with ice spikes.

Additionally, the update will feature a new Season Journey, a new Activity Card, new Challenges, and new rewards, such as cosmetics and consumables. Players can access the Season Journey and the Activity Card from the main menu, and track their progress and rewards. The Challenges will test the players’ skills and knowledge of the game, and reward them with Season Points and other rewards.

New World’sWinter Convergence Festivalreturns to Aeternum once again! Visit Winter villages and help the Winter Wanderer with his holiday-themedquests. Players can also earn the Winter Token currency and exchange them for new limited-time items These include skins, emotes, housing items, and more.

Intending to thwart the players is the Winter Warrior and his army of Frigid Folk, who are determined to bring a Forever Winter to the land. Join a group of at least 20 players to challenge this open-world boss roaming inGreat Cleave,Brightwood,Edengrove,Ebonscale Reach, and Brimstone Sandslocationsfor new holiday goodies.

Around the other side of the New World, the shadow of Rome looms over Aeternum. Track down General Crassus’ fearsome captains and stop their invasion in the new Legacy of Crassus event. Following an ancient plan, Crassus’ forces have occupied the southern lands and unleashed the cyclopses Lucanus and Decimus. Players who want to attempt to take down these enemies can look for portals in Brightwood, Weavers Fen, Mourningdale, Ebonscale Reach, and Edengrove.

Another announcement is that New World will be opening up a Public Test Realm (PTR) on November 9th. The PTR will allow players to preview upcoming features and content, such as a new Expedition, a new season story, new Artifacts, and more. Of course, players are also expected to test on the test realm. The PTR will also have special accommodations for players, such as instant levels and special gear.

The PTR is a separate client from the main game and requires a separate download. Players who own the main game will have access to the PTR app on Steam. The PTR will have limited availability and may have queues. The PTR characters and progress will not transfer to the live game.

Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the new features and content, just like in all other PTRs. There is an in-game Feedback tool available for all, or any comments can be left on Discord if that’s preferable.

The Eternal Frost update is expected to bring a lot of excitement and fun to the New World players, as they explore the new content and face the new challenges. The update will be free for all players who own the game although it will require the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion to play. For more information on the game, check out ourNew World Wiki!
