Amazon Games have announced they will be bringing a battle pass to the MMORPG New world on March 28th.
Amazon will be shaking up their seasonal model forNew Worldthis March. Starting on March 28th the Season Pass will come in a battle-pass styled offering.
When the game originally launched, the title was sold as a full-priced purchase, with the shop focusing on cosmetic items. Starting in March, players will have new options to purchase a new Season Pass 100-tier paid reward track. The seasonal model is now switching to a three-month system. There will also be a free track available.
The new Season Pass will include emotes, skins,gear, Boost Tokens and “other seasonal loot” according to Amazon. Players will need to earn Season XP by participating in objectives in the new Season Journey, Challenges and Activity Card. You can also gain XP by completing Quests, Faction Missions, Town Projects, Expedition Bosses, Outpost Rush, 3v3 Arenas and much more.
The Premium route is purchasable with 30,000 Marks of Fortune. These can be bought in bundles of 23,000 at $19.99 USD in the New World store. The devs assure that this new Season Pass format is not geared towards pay-to-win, even though it includes Boost Tokens. These are described as “temporary quality of life conveniences”. The gear offered in the Season Pass will be capped at a Gear Score of 600 and will not include any unique perks that can’t be found in the game. Boost Tokens allow players to “catch up” and do not affect stats or provide any combat advantage.
Tokens can be earned in-game through both the Free and Premium Track of the Season Pass. The developer has balanced out purchasable tokens when compared to craftable ones. For example the difference between a purchasable Proficiency Boost Token will increase Gathering yield by 10% for 90 minutes. While a craftable Powerful Proficiency Booster has a higher percent but lasts for a shorter duration.
Season Pass covers multiple characters on the same World/Region. But rewards can only be claimed once per Region and can be claimed on any character that has unlocked the Premium Rewards Track at level 25. You cannot transfer progress if you decide to switch regions.
New World’s first season will be kicking off with new narratives under Fellowship & Fire. This takes a look at a brand new story following the Silver Crows. Assembling an elite team of mercenaries players will help Skye the Spear-daughter face a Warlock and a horde of Varangian. Stop their carnage by taking on the new expedition Empyrean Forge.
A new Expedition means new level 60+ content as well as a new heartrune ability called Fire Storm. Cast tornado damage at targets and even upgrade to more powerful versions. There’s also a new Gear Set Storage option letting you quickly switch between gear sets.
Amazon has been making further waves with the announcement of a new MMORPG being published this year calledThrones and Liberty. Coming to multiple platforms PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
