Other details on the official page for the event tease a “large-scale themed area” which will showcase “top competitors”. Photo ops will include some sculptures from iconic Nintendo games for attendees to take pictures of. Previous live events have taken place in Japan, but this will be the first time it will be happening Stateside.

This news comes fresh after the recent major announcement ofno E3 being held this year. The well-known event was planned to happen in June but was later announced to be cancelled with Nintendo being one of the major players to be out of the mix. This was also following the absence ofPlaystation and Xbox, inevitably closing out the video conference.

Recent years had Nintendo take part in E3 in digital format, with pre-recorded presentations versus live events. However, Nintendo still hosted yearly live gameplay through Nintendo Treehouse. This year however it seems their own hosted event seems the way forward.
