Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.
I noticed one more change, and it’s very welcome. When the host prays at a shrine, the visitor’s flasks also refresh now. That REALLY helps for the long missions, like Demon King. Once you get to the Castle, you could easily use up most of your flasks with the 4 mini-bosses. I almost never had a full set to start the human bosses, and then the final boss. If I was down to 4 flasks, I would jump off a ledge instead of following the host up the elevator because it would be no use, I probably couldn’t make it through 3 boss levels even with ommyo.
I think that’s the only mission that needed that change since all other co-op missions have enough monsters spread around to facilitate a good supply of flask drops.
Those aren’t really ‘recommended levels’. There are mission levels and character levels, and while they are fairly close in NG, they don’t really have any bearing on each other.
I’m a HUGE fan of the matchmaking fix. There were some days I couldn’t get a game going, but now I get matched up pretty quickly.
I haven’t played in a while. Have they fixed leveling? By that I mean, it seems towards the end of the game, your current level vs. the recommended level of the next mission or area exponentially got wider. I don’t even want to think of what NG+ is like.
Honestly, the only change I noticed from the last update is they opened the doors in those individual Demon King arenas. I used to get stuck sometimes and couldn’t exit after the fight, even though the host could freely pass. I used to have to ride the hosts’ tail to make sure I got out when they did. I’m pretty sure most people don’t even know it was a glitch.
Well it’s a good thing they fixed matchmaking, it’s been broken for quite a while now. The input delay on items getting reduced is great too.
