Fresh on the heels of theAugust beta demo announcement, Koei Tecmo dropped a ton ofNiohscreenshots on us today on theirFacebook page, as well as a few more bits of info regarding what to expect from the demo which will release on August 23rd on PS4 and will be live until September 6th.
We were able to use a rifle in our E3 hands on time with the game, so we knew to expect firearms, but now players can anticipate a significantly more powerfulhand cannon rifle. If the screenshots provided for it are any indication, this thing is going to pack a hefty punch!
In addition to the new stage and dojo training section for becoming familiar with the combat, the beta will also feature the Usuki stage from the alpha, giving players plenty to do for the 2 weeks the beta is live. That game’s narrative will be a loose telling of William Adams, the first western samurai juxtaposed with the Yokai supernatural creatures of Japanese folklore.
William’s new companions will also feature their ownguardian spirits, which can combine together to create a devastating attack. This adds an extra layer of depth to the guardian spirit mechanic.
