No Season Pass for Mass Effect Andromeda, Early EA Access Confirmed

BioWare GM Aaron Flynn confirmed today on Twitter thatMass Effect Andromedawill not have a Season Pass for the game’sDLC.

Nope

Doesn’t get more official or professional than that. No further details regarding the type or size of potential DLC were shared, beyond a promise of more info down the road. No Season Pass is of course a double edged sword as it encourages a la carte shopping of DLC that players want, but also potentially removes an opportunity at discounted content for those committed to purchasing the whole lot. It’s also entirely possible that they have much more post launch support planned than is typical.

The tweeting wasn’t done there, as Mass Effect’s official account also confirmed that EA/Origin Access members will get to play the game early for a limited time.

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.

To my knowledge Bioware haven’t ever had a season pass though. So probably standard fare for extra content.

Well what I meant was that this could mean there will be no DLC. Knowing EA though there will be DLC…

Interesting. Now I have to get EA Access to play it early!

Either really. If you’re planning on buying every DLC they release, usually the pass is a discount. Otherwise, if you were going to buy it a la carte, no Season Pass allows you to comfortably make that choice and not feel compelled to spend a few more dollars for perceived value.

Oh, is a lack of a season pass a good or bad thing though?
