Online-Shooter “Battleborn” Ceasing Development!
Due to strong competition from popular online-shooterOverwatchand a dwindling player base, developer Gearbox Software has decided toceaseany ongoing development for their online first-person shooter,Battleborn.
The news wasannounced in a heartfelt message on their forumsby Randy Varnell aka “Jythri”, who broke the news and addressed the situation and future for the title.
Gearbox will stop releasing content in the future for their MOBA-like online shooter once its’Fall Updaterolls out.
“there will be no more Battleplans and there is currently no planned content after the Fall Update. Details of any future changes or news will be made on our forums or through social media, so keep your radars on.”
To thank the community, Gearbox is giving away a free skin code for Deande that is redeemable untilOctober 2. Thecode can be foundat the bottom of the forum post.
“As thanks to everyone who tuned in to the Battleplan over the last year, we’ve got a SHiFT code for Deande’s “Intelligence” skin.”
Players will still be able to playBattleborn”for the foreseeable future” and the game will be maintained by a small team.

LostMyHeadache ain’t going to be happy about this. We haven’t talked in a while, but he was obessed with Battleborn last we talked. He’s probably getting hyped about Borderlands 3 now though.
Aww, that sucks. Such are the dangers of competing against Blizzard, I suppose.
Blizz could really use some more competition, IMO. They’ve been getting a little samey over the last few years.
