Overwatch Halloween Terror Event Begins Today, New Update Released
Blizzard hasannouncedthatOverwatchplayers will be treated to a new Halloween themed event, called Halloween Terror, starting today and running for 3 weeks until November 1st. The event is now live for players on PS4, Xbox One and PC. With the event also comes a new patch for the game.
The fright for the future has begun, heroes, and for the next three weeks, we’re celebrating the spookiest time of the year in true Overwatch fashion—with a brand new seasonal event! Explore the haunted streets of Hollywood, expand your collection of themed holiday items, and relive a chilling tale in our first-ever PvE brawl: Junkenstein’s Revenge!
Players will also be able to participate in Overwatch’s first-ever co-op PvE Brawl: Junkenstein’s Revenge. 4heroeswill team up against Dr. Junkenstein, Junkenstein’s Monster, the Reaper, a mysterious witch, and several zomnics. A digital comic calledJunkensteinfleshes out the backstory of the event, providing a flavorful backdrop. Players will choose from the Alchemist (Ana), the Archer (Hanzo), the Gunslinger (McCree), or the Soldier (Soldier: 76) and defend Adlersbrunn castle’s doors against Dr. Junkenstein’s attacks and waves of zomnics.
Blizzard has promised future seasonal events after this one, so we can anticipate a winter holiday event and possibly even a love themed event come February. Seasonal events are always a fun way to invigorate a player base with something fresh, a tactic that Destiny has been tinkering with. Thoughts on the spooky event? New Feature: Leaderboards
In-game leaderboards will now show off the top 500 competitive players from each region, and a separate leaderboard will allow players to see how their competitive performance stacks up against their Battle.net friends. Plus, we’re adding leaderboards for the Overwatch Halloween Terror event that’s happening right now!
Note: After downloading the latest patch, players will need to complete at least one Competitive Play match before they’ll appear on the Battle.net friend leaderboards.

Ana
Developer Comments:So far, we haven’t seen any indication that Ana is too strong overall, but her ultimate charges a little too fast, especially considering the impact it can have on a match. Also, her Biotic Grenades are getting a small boost to help her hit multiple targets.
Widowmaker
Developer Comments:This change will help Widowmaker acquire new targets more quickly and speed up her reaction time in fast-paced situations.
Junkrat
Developer Comments:Junkrat can be an extremely effective hero in the right hands, but RIP-Tire often felt underpowered when compared to his counterparts.
