Path of Exile Breaks Records With Its Expansion ‘Settlers of Kalguur’

Path of Exileis hitting record numbers in its peak user count thanks to its expansion, which introduces city-building mechanics and many improvements onPC, Steam Deck, PS4, PS5, and Xboxhas a new expansion calledSettlers of Kalguur,which has led Grinding Gear to see a new peak in user numbers on Valve’s platform.

The free-to-play hack ‘n’ slash game is flexing its muscles again thanks to new content featuring city-building mechanics. “In Path of Exile: Settlers of Kalguur, you will help Kalguuran pioneers build the city of King’s Mark and establish a trading market between Wraeclast and their homeland,” says its synopsis.

These new record can be tracked onSteamDB, where we see that at the time of writing this article, there are 155,397 people playing. In the past 24 hours, up to 179,888 users have been playing simultaneously, with the peak of concurrent players reaching 229,337 three days ago. “Our July expansion introduces theSettlers of Kalguurchallenge league, a new trading market system for currency items,” say the developers.

And that’s not all, as there are also “balance improvements including changes for two ascendancy classes, endgame enhancements, some additions to the campaign, and several quality of life features.” There is also the Settlers of Kalguur challenge league, where we will encounter some familiar faces from the Expedition league like Dannig, Rog, Tujen, and Gwennen, who are searching for resources in Wraeclast.

They aim to start building the city and establishing a trade route to Kalguur, recruiting many characters from Wraeclast—including some well-known ones—and others who seek powerful exiles.Path of Exilebreaks records thanks to its new expansion.

Although it’s a shame thatPath of Exile 2was delayed, it thrilledDiablo 4fans with the Ranger class and many other good news nonetheless.
