The new DLC Beast of Winter follows the story of a Rymrgand worshipping the doomsday cult, located on the rapidly growing iceberg in the southern area of Deadfire. The cult are convinced that the player (the watcher) is the Duskspeaker, a forewarning of the end times and has invited the cult to Harbingers’ Watch to celebrate the end of civilisation.
The Watcher will learn about the cult, the head of the group Vatnir, the reason for the icebergs speedy growth, as well as how to counter the problem. As you face the issue head on, the party are taken to Rymrgand’s realm in The Beyond. In this expansion players will be able to discover new areas and learn about the on-goings of The Beyond and the White Void.
