Ravenlok an Action-RPG Inspired by Tolkien, Ghibli and Lewis Launches May 4th
A fairytaleAction-RPGRavenlok will be coming to Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC this May 4th.
This whimsical adventure follows Kira, who has just moved with her family to new home in the country. The house has been inherited from a missing relative, which should be setting off a few alarm bells. Despite the mysterious disappearance of said relative, the family has no qualms about moving into their stead. It’s here that Kira manages to pass through a mirror that opens up a magical realm, which sounds a bit like falling down a rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland-esque situation.
Understandably dazed and confused, Kira is now confronted with monsters. The world is full of intriguing characters and troublesome foes. Aided by a sword and shield, she will venture into an epic quest to save the fallen Realm of Dunia, and rescue it from the hands of the tyrannical queen.
Following the magical inspirations of previous authors mentioned, Ravenlok will include labyrinths, spooky mansions and plenty of hack ‘n’ slash action. Players will need to fight a variety of enemies and level up to unlock further abilities. Abilities teased include ice missiles, fiery spells and even magic bombs. Solve puzzles and complete quests to help the charming yet quirky members of the realm.
The 3D pixel art style has some Ghibli-styled characters but with its own spin on fairytales with bright colour scheme. Ravenlok devs promise a tantalising soundtrack and 4K resolution running at 60fps for current gen. The Zelda-puzzles as well as sword and board gameplay should keep players on their toes.
Ravenlokreleases on May 4th for Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC via Epic and Windows. It will also be coming Xbox Game Pass.
