Developed byTeam Ninjaand published byKoei Tecmoin association with Sony,Rise of the Roninis an exciting open-world game set in the final days of the Tokugawa shogunate in Japan.
According toKoei Tecmo, Rise of the Roninis the best-selling game in the publisher’s history and is breaking sales records. However, specific figures have not yet been disclosed. Critically, the game has received good reviews (especially in Japan) due to its carefully crafted setting, well-implemented mechanics, and details like the cats you can “collect.”
Not everything is perfect, of course. Other players noted thatRise of the Roninis lacking in the technical department, and certain parts of its open world are not as engaging as they would like.
Producer Fumihiko Yasuda of Team Ninja shared some interesting data and statistics about Rise of the Ronin, as well as choices that have stood out since the game’s launch.
For example, in terms of story, only 35% of players chose to kill Gonzo, while 65% spared the enemy we face in the game’s demo.
The majority (62%) sided with the shogunate in the main story, compared to 38% who chose to oppose the Tokugawa shogunate in its final years.

As of today, the free demo ofRise of the Roninfor PS5 is available in the PlayStation digital store. Note that this is not a trial with PS Plus, but a demo. The game’s demo includes cross-progression with the final version and allows us to face Gonzo in an epic battle.
